Real northern Florida at your feet
August 4, 2008
House is well maintained and six people were very comfortable. Beds are nice. Good night sleep is guaranteed. All linens and a lot of towels provided. House is placed on very high pillars so you can get tons of exercise going just up and downstairs. We have discovered nice beaches of Alligator Point. Fishing from the shore is a good option: fish (whiting) jump from the water all the time. We enjoyed using our catamaran and kayaks mainly during day time. It is pretty shallow in the low tide time, after 6 pm: one has to push catamaran through the shallow waters for almost a half of mile before reaching appropriate water depth. However waters are full of wildlife at the low tide times:huge mollusks (“Conks”), crabs in shells, horseshoe crabs, crabs in the sand holes on the beach, etc.Real wild northern Florida is still available here for those who do not care for the noise and crowd of more advertised beaches. We did not miss the Internet much: there is not Internet connection in the h
Alligator Point - Quiet and Peaceful

Our stay at White Pelican was great. We saw dolphins off the deck of our house and found so many beautiful seashells right in front of the house. The screened-in porch was fabulous and the open floor plan was great for our large family. A clean home that was neat and tidy. Alligator Point is far away from stores so bring plenty of board games/play dough/toys for little ones in case of rain. A small patio for the hose/fish cleaning station would have been nice but in general - a great house/location and would stay there again.
Private Beach Paradise

We had a wonderful time during our stay. We played with huge horseshoe crabs, caught shark and stingrays, along with other fish right out our front door. We found tons of huge shells and spent numerous hours on the porch. The house was spacious and nice. If you don't mind the 30 minute ride to the nearest grocery store this is a great place. We had the beach to ourselves for as far as we could see the entire week. We even got to be involved in checking a sea turtle nest. The turtle crew are great.
Family Fun in the Sun!

This is our 6th year staying at the Forgotten Coast. Sandy Toes by far had the most comfortable accomondations. The beds were of good quality providing a realaxing end to fabulous days. The wildlife that we saw while enjoying the beach cannot be found anywhere else. From the dolphins that are so close you can hear their calls to the eagle diving for his dinner- the experience was breath taking. We caught numerous things right from shore including a sting ray - which was very exciting! The only thing that was less than desirable were the bug bites from the no-seeums- so bring bug spray and you will be all set. Don't let the darkness keep you away from the beach as chasing and getting chased by the ghost crabs at night provide screeching fun! If you are looking for a memorable time with out the hassle of a crowd, I recommend a stay at Sandy Toes!
