Description of the Aniane vacation home rental
Welcome to your French Retreat, in Aniane near Montpellier et les Cévennes, France
This quintessential row house has preserved all of its glory and original charm despite recent renovations. Sipping your morning coffee or enjoying a fine glass of local wine, the neighboring chapel bells ring twice an hour and remind you that you are far from home…

We come to live here full-time every few years. It is therefore fully equipped. We love the entry into the vaulted basement which is typical of this area. Candlelit apéros are a lot of fun down there. Upstairs we enjoy the very large, sunny kitchen and adjoining salon/dining room. Up some more stairs, each of the 3 main bedrooms are decorated with French Mediterranean and peace and comfort in mind. There are French country, Provencal and Moroccan themes going on. Finally, there’s yet another set of stairs (there are 5 total sets which kids love to discover) to the cozy office/bedroom retreat.

The most common feedback we've heard from friends who have stayed in our home is how easy it was to step into French life and feel at home (with any level of French language.) The neighbors and local merchants are friendly, the town is always celebrating something, and there is plenty to do and see for all tastes. The surrounding region is the largest wine producer of France - Lanquedoc Roussillon. We appreciate it for being as good as the famous regions but less well-known, like a best kept secret..
