Reviews for this vacation cabin rental in Boone, North Carolina
Fantastic Get-a-way in Boone!
July 15, 2015
We just finished our 8 day Vacation in Boone/ Blowing Rock. This cabin was awesome! We brought our two Bernese Mt. Dogs with us along with our two Children 10 & 11. Everything we needed down to dog bowls was in the cabin. With that said, I did go buy my own supplies, but when you get in the first night, you don't need to think about trash bags or toilet paper. The kids loved the bedroom with the two twins beds. They could watch their own shows on TV and "hang out". The porch is the best feature of this cabin. It's large, so relaxing, quiet, and you can just rock away in the rocking chairs. The dog screen was excellent. It allowed the dogs to come in and out from the porch. I'll admit I did clean a little while I was there, only because my dogs are big and their hair was bothering me. I did not have to clean for any other reason. Their housekeeper does a wonderful job between rentals. I know people have commented on the driveway. We drove down in a Chevy Suburban WITH a 14 ft trailer! It was challenging but not impossible. The covered carport was perfect for our trailer to fit under so our bikes and kayak were protected. The location is perfectly situated between Boone & Blowing Rock. We will definitely rent again if we don't buy down there first!!! Thanks, Mary & Tim!

My husband, dog and I rented the Pear Tree Cottage so that could return to some places that we had visited in the past. We enjoyed the cool weather, and the spacious layout of the cottage. We especially liked the walk- in shower and having all of the linens supplied and washed after we left. Walking is difficult for us, so walking up the hill while unloading the car was a challenge, as well as walking the dog on he hillside, but it was so worth it. We loved all of the comforts, T.V, wonderful internet, and washer and drier and foods left behind by other renters that made our stay easier. We needed the space and internet to complete our photo preparations for a conference. We would love to return sometime when we have less baggage to get into the house. Tom and Mary were for accommodating with anything we needed.
Thank you Gail for this nice review. We should point out to other guests that the hill Gail refers to is the little path that you see in the photo leading from the garage to the front door, and the "food left by other guests" is actually ketchup, mustard, salt & pepper, herbs etc. We never leave actual food, but thank you again Gail and we're glad you enjoyed your stay.

Our first time staying at the "Cottage" and it certainly will not be our last! Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Cozy and inviting, our trip was extra special with all the amenities that the cabin offered. Books, games, puzzles and more combined with all the comforts of home, made for a memorable trip in the mountains for our family! Laughter and bonding is what we wanted and that is exactly what we did! Memories that will last a lifetime!

BEST VALUE AROUND, STAY HERE!
Everything was PERFECT! Beautiful cabin, very clean with everthing you could think of! You simply will not find anything near this nice any where around for this price. We were VERY surprised how nice the cabin is when we arrived. The pictures do not do it justice. A big thank you to Tim and Mary.

Excellent weekend - highly recomended
Upon arrival, the cabin was immaculate. The housekeeper did a wonderful job of cleaning every nook and cranny. As mentioned in other reviews, the antique furniture was unique and beautiful. What wasn't mentioned, and what really made our stay, were all of the small details such as:
-salt/pepper and other spices in the cabinet
-dish soap, laundry detergent
-high qualitity linens. The towels and bedding were fantastic!
-doggie door that exits to back (fenced in) deck area
-books, DVDs, board games
-great array of cookware/utensils
-2 sledding discs in the garage area (we definately used these in 1 inch of snow!)
The fireplace was awesome and we lit a fire each night. Tim and Mary did a great job of creating a little community among Pear Tree Cottage visitors and we really felt "at home" during our stay.
The location was awesome because it was in the hills and tucked away, yet only 10 minutes from ASU and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Plan to go back again in warmer weather to kayak down the river. Thanks Tim and Mary for all you've done.
