Nice, private location

June 4, 2013

We were pleased to find a place for 15 of our immediate adult family members. The Zin house was nicely laid out and had 3 private bedrooms. The Merlot house had a unique layout but unfortunately had no private bedrooms--you had to walk through bedrooms to exit the house or get to the main living space--not so good for newlyweds and older couples who want privacy. The property had a nice fire ring that had a beautiful canopy of trees above us. The property itself was also very private. We were disappointed, though, in the condition of the homes and surrounding property. They were not well maintained, not very clean and the property was overgrown. We even wondered if maybe the cleaning crew hadn't been to the house prior to our rental. We couldn't get hot water for our showers in the Merlot house the first 2 days. We contacted the owners and didn't get a live response. A day or so later a handyman came by and fixed it. All in all, the places were large but better suited for families with children, not all adults/couples. It could be a nice place for families, but the owners need to do some work, inside and out. Price was reasonable, though!
