DETATILED PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
The Shoreline Condominium Association Property consists of 6 privately owned townhouse/units on about 140 feet of water frontage (common area). Each of the Shoreline Units are privately owned & independently operated. The Units vary in size, room numbers and ammenities. Our unit is the 3 story end unit consisting of 1800 SF.
MAIN FLOOR: Amazing views from our end unit with large sliding glass door and side window. Step out the sliding door to the large 8 x 20 deck over looking the lake where you will find outdoor furniture and a gas grill. The property is well furnished and appointed. The kitchen with island is well equipped. There is a living area with TV & a dining area. Great area for the adults to visit while the kids hang out in the lower living room. There's a 1/2 bathroom on main level. There's a table full of games in the living room for the rainy day.
UPPER LEVEL BEDROOMS: Our property has a large master bedroom with California King bed, Ceiling fan, TV and large walk in Closet. The 2nd Bedroom has two (2) sets of bunk beds and sleeps up to 5 people. One bunk contains a double bed (2 people) with a twin above and the other is a twin over twin bunk. The 2nd bedroom contains a large walk in closet. There's a full bathroom upstairs between the bedrooms, Bath towels, beach towels, linens and a starter supply of paper products are also provided.
LOWER LEVEL WALK-OUT: The lower level takes you out to the common area and lake. This room has great space with a lot of seating for large gatherings around the fireplace or to watch tv/movies on the flat panel TV with DVD Player. There's a laundry room and full bath on this level. What's nice is that this gives the adults and kids there own seperate space. The lower level can convert into a sleeping quarter at night with a queen size pull out sofa bed and two ottomans that pull out into twin sleepers.
CAPACITY: While we are able to accomodate more, our maximum desired capacity is up to 6-8 guests. The extra beds/sleepers are provided to allow for flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. We will consider more guests only on a case by case basis and with written permission only.
PETS: NOT ALLOWED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY APPROVED IN WRITING. We will consider pets strictly on a case by case basis. There is a pet fee.
ACCESS TO THE COMMON AREA AND LAKE: The Lower Level Walk-out leads you right out to the grassy common area and waterfront. We have plenty of lawn chairs and a fire pit. The Association property consists of about 140 feet of water frontage with two large stair cases to the shoreline and a new beautiful docking system with steps into the water. Our unit comes with a private boat slip that can hold up to a 30 foot boat. The area of the lake between the shoreline to the docking system is shallow and particularly great for little ones as the docking system also creates a nice barrier between the shallow and deeper waters. The water is not mucky or full of weeds. This is a massive inland lake so naturally there will be some stones washed closer to the shore. Areas on the South arm are generally not as rocky as the North arm. Because this is an inland lake, this property like most have some type of retaining wall to prevent damaging erosion. Personally I'd rather lay out and relax in my lawn chair on the nice grass than getting sand in my hair and refreshment. ; ) If you are looking for a sandy beach we are located extremely close to two public beaches or enjoy boat ride to Young State Park to the north.
RATES AND CALENDAR:
Prices vary and are seasonal. Rental periods in the summer are generally for one week minimum stays . HOWEVER, there are occasional opportunities for a shorter mid-week stays that come with earlier than usual check-ins on Monday and later than usual check-outs of Friday at a great rate. There are no weekend only periods available during the summer. THE RATE AND AVAILIBILITY CALENDAR IS FLUID. It can be confusing so please don't hesitate to inquire about rates and availability.

Reviews for this vacation condo rental in Charlevoix, Michigan
Great condo, great location
October 7, 2015
Very nice and very clean condo in a great location, right on the waterfront of the calmer lower arm of Lake Charlevoix. Boat rentals are practically right next door at Swan Valley Marina. Short drive to Charlevoix and Boyne City, and very short drive to East Jordan. All can be visited by boat as well! We would definitely stay there again :)

We rented this townhouse on Lake Charlevoix with our two young children and another family. We had a such a wonderful time! The townhouse is very clean, with updated fixtures and appliances. The furniture was comfortable. The townhouse is on three levels with more than enough space. We spent quite a bit of time sitting on the porch or in the yard while the children played along the shore and in the water. It is shallow for quite a ways which is great for little ones. The property is very well maintained. The weather was great. The townhouse came with a boat slip that was easy to access and use. Lake Charlevoix itself is just beautiful. We were spoiled by our many adventures on the water. The home-owners have gathered all sorts of local information and made a wonderful reference binder with lots of things to do. The townhouse is located close to Charlevoix, Boyne, Petoskey and even Traverse City isn't too far - all great locations for both summer and winter activities! We found the owners to be very nice and a pleasure to work with. We have finally found a place that we could rent as "regulars" and we are so excited about that!

We had a great time. The condo has beautiful water views and is very clean, though a little off the beaten path.
Our awesome Lake Charlevoix just took runner up to Lake Charlevoix as the Best Lake in America Competition by USA today! : ) The location of our waterfront condo on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix which places you within 3-15 drving miles from Boyne City, City of East Jordan and city of Charlevoix which actually overlooks the marina on Round Lake. Check out this USA Today Article of Why you should visit Lake CharlevoixBy Laura Bly, USA TODAYUpdated 6d 3h ago Comments
Tahoe came out on top in our recent reader poll on America's best lake, and I'll be exploring the popular alpine outpost later this week for a travel story running Aug. 10. But as its many fans made clear, the second-place finisher has plenty to offer, as well.
Just east of Lake Michigan, this inland lake offers an idyllic getaway.CAPTIONBy Harbor House Publishers
Though I grew up in southern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Mendota (a sentimental favorite, but not on our shortlist), I wasn't familiar with runner up Lake Charlevoix, Michigan - or another nearby lake north of Traverse City that earned several write-in votes, Torch Lake.
RELATED: America's best lake: And the winner is...
PHOTOS: Best lakes in America
Now, I'm "smitten with the mitten" (a reference to Michigan's hand-shaped geography).
A few arguments in its favor from our readers:
Nancy M. Dammann: "To be fair, all these lakes are amazing. But here are a couple of other Lake Charlevoix facts worth mentioning--from any point on Lake Charlevoix, you can sail to any ocean in the world and many other lakes. Near the mouth of the lake, there is a natural safe harbor that often shelters international sailors and boaters who have left the oceans in the fall, under the false assumption that the Great Lakes will be safer than the oceans. Charlevoix's harbors have often hosted storm fleeing sailboats and provided them a home throughout entire winters. Lake Charlevoix has also been a seasonal destination since pre-Columbian times, providing an important summer place to Native Americans in the area. In addition, residents are also trying to raise funds to buy a significant chunk of lake shore (a former summer camp) and turn it into a permanent public park. The lake is 18 miles long, 3.5 miles wide at its widest, and has two arms (the South arm is 11 or 12 miles long and often much calmer than the Northern arm). It is home to loons, and ducks, and fish, the occasional otter, gorgeous boats, and amazing people and communities."
Karen Kent Guzniczak: "We've owned a retail store in Boyne City for 22 years and talk to thousands of people every year from all over the world. The comments we hear are always about how blessed we are. People are amazed at how clean and clear Lake Charlevoix is. A young child from our area went on vacation with his parents to the Caribbean and when they they flew over the water he said 'Look Lake Charlevoix.'"
Stephanie Balch: "Sandy beaches, access to restaurants, great fishing, gorgeous harbors in quaint Northern Michigan towns ... and a short boat ride through Round Lake and the Pine River Channel puts you on Lake Michigan! Not a more beautiful lake to view the fall foliage."
Laurie Szabo-Dill: "Got married overlooking Lake Charlevoix, and still have people tell me it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to!"
Chase Petroelje: "With several small, tourist-adored towns surrounding it, Lake Charlevoix boasts some of the world's finest sunsets, beaches, boating and gastronomy ... a shallow ledge outlines the entire lake, making it ideal for families, and anchoring for a day of relaxation. If that's not enough, it was the location for the wedding of world-famous author Ernest Hemingway and his wife. You know you've found an extraordinary lake when much of it is bordered by multimillion dollar houses, private water planes, and some of the largest yachts you'll ever see!"
G.T. Long: "Lake Charlevoix is where the Gods swim....other lakes may be pretty, but Lake Charlevoix is spiritual in its beauty, clear, clean, deep, and big, situated on hills and a hundred shades of green
Charlevoix, Michigan Condo Experience
July 22, 2011
The condo is clean, clean, clean. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen has everything a cook needs and more. It is easy driving to Charlevoix, Boyne City and Petoskey. There is a nice firepit for evenings. It is directly on the lake which is clean, and also is a good fishing lake. If you decide to rent, there is a marina within walking distance. It is far enough removed from town to have some much needed peace and quiet from our busy lives yes close enough to get to the action if you wish. Have a great trip and don't miss this condo!
