Great Family Vacation

September 4, 2013

Just wanted to tell you what a great vacation my family and my brothers family had at your place. I just kept getting compliments on finding such a great location and easy to shopping (Harris Teeter & ABC store area). Also that the house was just perfect, lots of bathrooms and beds and a great kitchen and family room and outside deck with a view of the ocean. We even had some folks that my sister-in law knew staying in a very high priced house up the road drop by to check your place out, for possible rental next summer. We had very good weather and could pop out to beach at moment’s notice. We meant to sign your book, but got in a rush to hit the road home.

Great view of the ocean. Plenty of room for all. The remodeled kitchen was beautiful. The owners were wonderful to deal with. Very clean. The location was very peaceful. Loved searching for Ghost Crabs every night on the beach. Can't say enough good things about this house. Hope to rent again. next year.

Wonderful

August 23, 2012

We loved the house. The walk to the beach was short, the house was large and comfortable and we had the best time ever. We'd love to return to this same house next year.

Great Vacation

August 16, 2012

We had a wonderful time in Corolla, N.C. A great spot for a family vacation. The Sand Trap was close to the beach with a great view of the ocean. This house had plenty of space and was very comfortable. We would go back in a heartbeat.

A Blast at Sand Trap

July 17, 2012

The house is meticulously kept up. Beautiful carpet, and wood mouldings. Loved the layout of the rooms and everything in the kitchen was in fine order. The location was perfect - near everything in Corolla. The keypad entry should be a must on all beach homes - with five adults - everyone had a 'key' - that couldn't be lost!

Owner's reply:

Mr. Roberts was a great tenant who alerted us to a leak in the AC system. He and his group were very helpful and cooperative in letting the service people come in and make the repairs.

Had a blast...

September 9, 2009

the owners were so great to work with, the house was exactly as described, close to the water and fully stocked. Plus you cant beat the location to harris teeter. The family had such a great time, its hard to describe. I would recommend this house to any of my friends. The only upgrade would be in the games and movie selection, but thats just me trying to find something. Other then that, great house.

Great family house

August 17, 2009

This was one of our favorite rentals on the Outer Banks! The house is clean, very well stocked, and very comfortable. Nothing fancy, but just a great house to hang out in and it is so convenient to the beach.

More Information

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have a site where we can see more information and photos?
A: Yes; search obxsandtrap
Q: How close is the house to the beach?
A: Very close; just a short walk across the cul-de-sac to the beach walkway over the dunes. It's easy to go back and forth from the beach to the house. No long walks sideways down the block to get to a beach access, simply a direct path to the beach.
Q: What are the bedroom/bath accommodations?
A: There are 3 master bedrooms on the first floor, with queen beds, and each has its own full bath. One half-level up is another bedroom with an adjacent full bath with tub/shower. This bedroom is ideal for kids, with a pyramid bunk plus a twin bed with a trundle bed, but is also suitable for adults.
Q: How are the views from the house?
A: There are great views of the water from the upper level family room and decks, and especially the top-level loft. Our subdivision is composed of 1/2 acre lots leaving much open space between houses. Our house is third back from the water. but the house in front is located at the back of their lot, and the oceanfront lot directly in front is empty, so the view is unobstructed. And large lots mean fewer people at the family-friendly beach, so there is plenty of room for activities.
Q: What do you supply and what do we need to bring?
A: The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need, right down to a crockpot! The beds have mattress pads, blankets, pillows, and bedspreads, but you will need to bring your own linens and bath & beach towels. We can suggest a company that rents linens, if desired. We start each summer with a supply of beach chairs and umbrellas, sand toys and boogie boards in the Renter's closet under the house. But you can also bring your own.
Q: What shops and entertainment are nearby?
A: Harris Teeter grocery is 1/4 mile away with shops and Food Lion is 1/2 mile away with Timbuck II (a shopping center). There are restaurants and a movie theater. For water sports, there are kayaks, jet skis, wind surfing boards and surf board rentals, Also there are mini-golf and go-carts. For the sightsee-er there are Corolla Light House, the Whale Head Club, wild horse tours and the 4 wheel drive beaches. Best of all are the beautiful beaches.
