The house was big and had plenty of room! It is not that far to walk to the beach!

Not what we expected

July 28, 2014

We stayed in this property from July 19th through the 24th (decided to leave a day early). First problem, parking, if you have more than 3 vehicles than parking could be an issue? There is a small parking area in the back of the property and 4 extra spaces near the pool area, but if those fill you are expected to park at a near by shopping center. However, towing signs are everywhere outside the property. Second problem the community in which this house is located is NOT well taken care of , they literally have 6-8 parking cones around all of the potholes in the entrance it's like a maze trying to get around them, but thank goodness for the cones because the holes are that bad. Third issue, not enough dumpsters to put your trash so when we first arrived all we noticed were the bags of trash mounted in front of everyone's homes. Trash comes on Tue./Friday. What comes with trash left out in the open, rodents, yes RATS. We noticed a rat outside our door when we were hanging outside in the evening. The home itself okay, you get what you pay for, the furniture is pretty worn out. If you have a large group like us, 16, and plan to cook a lot like we did, you will need to purchase kitchen supplies because this property is not well equipped with utensils, pots, etc. NOTE, this is our third trip to Destin with a large group and this is our first experience like this. The last problem is not a problem with the house or property, but noting it because it will give you an idea of the type of people renting in this community, we had to evacuate the pool our first day because an employee found feces in the pool. Enough said.
