great sentimental lake home
December 7, 2014
this home brings back old time memories of lake cottages . it feels like a cottage from the movies that could also be a home. pretty, comfortable. homey. lovingly decorated. the only problem we had was it was very cold at that time of year as only one space heater in the central living room... though the bathroom was heated so very comfy. it needs a lock on the front lakeside door unless it was just that we couldn't find it? especially for women staying alone, as we all were. the owners live next door and are very helpful and nice.

Great property; great location and super friendly owners. We've been coming to Elkhart Lake for years but this was by far our best experience. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Stayed with my college girlfriends for a short week in Elkhart Lake. This was the perfect place for us! We had a great time and the accommodations were fabulous! It's a great historic cottage with a wonderful history. We couldn't have asked for a better time and experience! The family that owns it, were so nice and accommodating. Thanks again!

More than expected

The cottage is absolutely adorable, and as other reviewers noted, nicer than the pictures. We shared wonderful family moments on the beautiful porch, where we enjoyed the views and music from the nearby resorts. Family of the owners are next door, and they are very friendly and helpful. I recommend that people bring window fans in summer, as the ceiling fans are not quite enough in the August heat. The only minor complaint is that a beach onsite is listed as a feature of the property. While there is swimming off the pier, I would not describe the land near the water as a beach. A beach is, however, a short drive, and a 15-20 minute walk away.
pictures do not do it justice!

we rented this cottage for a fall get together. the photos absolutely do not do it justice. it is in pristine condition. not even a paint chip. the beds were comfortable and everything was really clean. be advised that none of the rooms are sound proof so if you're a light sleeper, you'll want to bring earplugs. the porch and view of the lake are outstanding. i'd love to come back in the summer when we can better enjoy this amenity. thank you for having such a great place!

I can only echo previous positive sentiments... I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about our stay. The cottage is adorable, clean and spacious. The screened porch is idyllic. The lake and pier are great for swimming and relaxing. Just steps away, the Tiki Bar and boat rental add to the already wonderful location and available amenities.
Family Fun Galore

If you are looking for a great and memorable family time this is the place. The beach and pier are amazing for swimming and kid play. Boats for waterskiing and tubing are literally steps away, as is the Tiki bar for lunch and drinks - either for there or to bring back to hang out. If you're going to be outside, bring your bug spray, but you'd need that anywhere during the summer. There was no bug problem on the porch this year, as the owners have replaced all the screens. We slept outside on the porch one night (during a rainstorm) and it was glorious. It is definitely one of the best porches on the lake. My only negative....Bring many beach towels - you'll definitely go through them. Despite the hanging rack outside, without a dryer you'll need more than you think.

The cottage was terrific - so cute and clean and well furnished. The surrounding woods and lakefront were beautiful. This was a wonderful getaway.
wonderful location, beautiful house!

This was a beautiful cottage and a stellar location! We had such a good time sitting on the porch relaxing, sitting on the dock watching our kids swim, and enjoying the race weekend! The only thing that kept it from being five stars was the fact that mosquitos seemed to have more than one way to get into the house, and they were persistent! Other than that, it was very relaxing, and I really envy these owners. it was a charming place, and you could just imagine what it would have been like many years ago (when none of the BIG new stuff was there). Elkhart Lake (the village and the body of water) are treasures! Thanks to the owners for this wonderful experience: if i may do so here...reserve it for us for the same weekend next year!!
