Enjoyed the location-best of both worlds!!!
August 9, 2015
Great location on the bay with 2 private fishing piers and a small beach. We felt as though we had the best of both worlds with great fishing and crabbing at the house with a beautiful white sand beach within walking distance. Out and away from the hustle bustle. Loved being the last house on the road.

My husband and I along with our four children and six grandchildren stayed at "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" in Fort Morgan. That place, without a doubt, has the absolute best sunrises and sunsets. Early morning coffee on the deck was a special treat as we got to watch the sun come up, but the sunset from that same deck provided us with pictures that belong in a magazine. We enjoyed the wrap around deck. The guys and little ones were able to catch crabs from the traps that were provided for us by the owners. Although the fishing was not great during our time there, a seafood market was just a few minutes away and we were able to purchase fresh fish for our fish fry. The neighbor offered us the use of his private beach, so we were able to launch our paddle boards and kayaks from there. The owners were very easy to work with. A golf cart or vehicle is needed to transport your beach items as the beach is a bit farther than I had anticipated, but it only took a few minutes to get there. There were a few minor repairs that were needed but nothing that would prevent us from visiting again. The view of the bay, with the sunrise and sunset are remarkable! If you are looking to get away and relax in a quiet, beautiful atmosphere, this is the place for you. The owners, Doris and Les, were so nice and accommodating, friendly and easy to work with. Our family vacation was a huge success.

Spacious, gorgeous, well-maintained and -priced

This is my second time taking a crew to this rental. The first time, we were at full capacity, the second, we each had a room to ourselves. The large communal interior kept the first stay from feeling too cramped for a full week of relaxation. The second trip felt even more luxurious. In between the two trips (about a month and a half apart), numerous improvements were made, and the few complaints we had (a dock light that was out) were promptly address the next day. The pier is the longest in that stretch of the bay, and if you don't have the chops to catch and gut the fish at the provided gutting station yourself, the crab traps take no skill, bring in a nice number of crabs each night, and are super fun and easy to lay out. The kitchen is spacious and well-stocked, with plenty of fridge and counter room. The wrap around porch has a few errant nails–be careful barefoot–but gives a beautiful vista of the area, especially at sun rise or set. It's gated, too so you can keep track of your kids while letting the breeze in. The under-the-house area has room for ample parking a nice (though slightly dirty) grill, and an outdoor shower for getting that sand off. The walk to the beach takes 3 minutes, and leads to a very nice, frequently uncrowded stretch of gorgeous sand. I hope to return frequently in the future, and I suggest you try it out.
Family Thanksgiving Retreat
December 4, 2014
My family, which included 13 people from 5 to 65 stayed six nights at this house. The weather in Nov. started out cool and overcast but a day later, the sun came out and the fun began. The house accommodated us very well and was stocked with everything we needed. The two sectional sofas were nice to have when we were all together at night. The TV was nice but we had to rig it through our laptop to be able to watch the Iron Bowl because ESPN was not available on the cable lineup. We fixed that and had a great time yelling 'Roll Tide' as they, thankfully, pulled it out. This is an older home so expect the bathrooms to be in 'older' shape. The showers worked well and the toilets flushed well. We are not 'picky' people and went there to have fun and make memories with our family -- which we did. There was one problem with the lights on the pier but Les helped us try to solve the problem. Putting in a new floor and getting rid of the tile this winter will be a wonderful upgrade for this house. We walked to the beach several days and enjoyed watching the kids play in the sand. They also enjoyed riding their bikes outside because it was a deadend road and there was no traffic. The steps may be difficult for older people so keep that in mind. All in all, we enjoyed our visit, had everything we needed and we thank the Stier's for the use of "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere". Thank you!!
The Perfect Family Beach Vacation Home!!

We absolutely love coming here every year and have for several years now. It is perfect for us! The layout of the house and how well it is furnished with everything you need, the fishing piers with lights, the crab traps, and cleaning station meets our every need! This trip we had fresh crabs two nights and caught enough fish for another night. My grands just loved it especially helping catch the fish. My grandson cried to stay and I almost did! We also had our grand daughters sixth birhday party there this time. Great memories Thanks to Les and Doris for sharing their wonderful home! Hope to be back soon!

If your looking for a place that's loud full of teenagers and parting, this my friend is not for you !! On the other hand if you enjoy peace beautiful sunsets fishing crabbing and relaxing on a porch that you can enjoy your favorite beverage on while waiting to check crab traps for dinner. This would be fore you. Our stay was very nice ! Kitchen greatly stocked owners were very nice to work with . Dolphins playful from the deck, crabs in the cages and fish on the hooks . Steps were tough on me for the first two days. But hey I'm in better shape now !! Lol. Only down fall on this place is that time somehow speeds up here. Seems like it's 5 o clock to fast here Enjoyed our stay and hate to leave Lisa and Greg Edmonds

Great time! Needs a little repair
August 28, 2013
We had a lot of fun staying at this bay front house with our family. Pros: kitchen is well stocked, plenty of sleeping space, docks for fishing and crabbing, plenty of parking under the house, decking around the house was wonderful, pets were excepted with a fee. Area was quiet and restful, beds were comfy. Cons: house is in bad need of repair in certains areas, tiles on floor were crumbling under our feet in several areas. If the rugs were not place in those areas, we could have cut our feet. Not very many tv's, and all were set to one receiver, wall paper peeling in bathrooms, mold under faucets in showers, sliding doors are rusting and some won't open, plumbing issues, shower water leaks out of plumbing onto the carport floor under the house. We still had fun though! Fort Morgan is very quiet. It's far from major grocery store chains, so convenience stores nearby are pricey. The owner gave us a great rate on the house and we truly appreciate that.

Perfect Family Getaway!
August 1, 2013
Everything about this property is described perfectly and there is nothing else we could have possible wanted for. It was excellent for our yearly family vaca and we will be returning as we are now spoiled by the owners, who by the way, are wonderful to deal with!! The dock and crab traps were a hit for the kids with more blue crab and speckled trout caught than we knew what to do with ... even a few stone crabs for an extra treat! There was a small private beach area on the property which was perfect for use of the provided kayak or a late night beach fire to roast s'mores for the kids and look at countless stars. The sunsets from the wrap around deck were amazing, or you could enjoy them from the yard which had 2 huge picnic tables and an over-sized grill to cook today's catch. The Gulf was only a 5 minute walk and was gorgeous. We staked off our little area of sand and it was ours for the week as the area is secluded enough to leave your tent, toys and chairs right there and not have to drag them back and forth! If you're looking for a touristy vacation with mini-golf and high rises ... this is not the place for you, but if you want a wonderful home to relax and enjoy quality time with your family ... it couldn't be more perfect!

This home was just perfect for our yearly get-away. The dogs loved running around the deck & could watch all the birds. Fishing from the pier was just a walk off the deck. Plenty of bedrooms & the kitchen was so stocked, couldn't expect more. We had 18 days to walk the beach, read, and watch the beautiful sunsets!!!! The sunrises (should you get up that early) were also wonderful. Thanks for the memories. The Schapers Portage, Wisconsin
