Perfect little getaway
October 12, 2014
This is the most interesting, unique, comfortable, relaxing place I could have ever found. The beach just steps away and the greatest view from porch and also from the inside. I will definitely go back to this sweet A Frame Vista again. Absolutely loved this place.
"A" Little Piece Of Heaven
August 6, 2014
I brought my daughter to the beach for her birthday and a much needed get away for us both. I didn't want the normal hotel/condo experience but it was kind of a spur of the moment trip and didn't think I'd be able to find anything. I emailed and called Sandra and she got back with me right away.....and the A Frame Vista was available. This quirky little place couldn't have been more perfect (except not having the wi-fi password) and we were able to relax and forget all our problems for a weekend. It's very comfy/cozy, has everything you'll need (and more), quiet and really does have the best view ever! Next time we stay we only need to rent the deck....we spent all our time out there.....my daughter even did early morning yoga on the upper deck. We had absolutely no issues with people being loud and partying all night and were able to get some much needed rest. We were unable to meet up with Sandra but dealing with her was like talking with someone you've known for a long time----not a uncaring robot on the other end of the phone. Next time we planabeach trip, I will definitely check Sandra's properties first...as I'm confident I'll get what I want. Thank you Sandra, for making an enjoyable and memorable weekend for us! :) Amy Pellerin

My wife and I have rented from Sandra before and it was so nice to meet her...very nice and affable to my wife and I. Sandra showed us everything we needed to know about this place. We were comfortable with her and the A-Frame...I missed watching the news with no TV but that will not keep me from coming back...Thanks Sandra you are a great host...Love this place with all the tropical plants and trees..Ron
Ron it was a such a pleasure meeting you both. Love to have you back anytime. Not only are you pleasant but you always take great care and extra effort to leave any rental like you find it! You have earned a free night and we will have cable in July. Thank you and know you are always welcome. Truly appreciate having you both. Sandra :)

This place was wonderful! After getting over the shock of no TV (no-I had no trouble making a week without it-will absolutely do it again) and worrying with the internet, my husband and I got down to the business of relaxing, beach-combing,eating and enjoying a couple of good novels. I cannot say enough good things about our accommodations-charming, quaint and quite comfortable. Thank you Sandra. You made our trip and we WILL be back. To everyone reading this you can't go wrong here with A Frame Vista or with Ms. Allen. Also the neighbors are great! Thank you Mr. Calvin!! (Really the only negative is the VCR could be replaced with a DVD player. That would be awesome!) So Sandra we will see you again soon!
Cute little place close to the beach
March 22, 2013
Great little place very close to a quiet family beach. The house has all the little touches needed to complete your stay. From the garden hoses near the entrance for rinsing the sand off your feet after walking the beach to the complete kitchen with a corkscrew, the house has everything you would need for a trip to the beach. We had no trouble finding the house, getting seafood at the local market to cook and finding a place to eat close by the beach. The beach was very nice and super clean. We loved being able to walk back and forth to the house in such a short period of time. Very relaxing and we would definitely come back again.
Was never contacted by the owner

Beach House Dream!
September 5, 2012
We LOVED the house! It's so close to the beach! We cooked fresh seafood and lounged around on the beach with cold cocktails. It's about a $30(+tip) cab ride to the Strand but very close to several restaurants on the Seawall. We will definately come back and may even make it a bi-annual trip! Thanks for everything.
Casey I am so glad you and Greg enjoyed your time at A Frame on a busy Labor Day weekend. I know the haul in from Dallas was a long ride, but sounds like it was worth the drive. You and Greg can come back anytime. In fact you will receive a free night on a four night booking or 25% off a weekend stay as you left the house just like you found it! We can't wait to see you again. Thanks again. Sandra

Shocked/dissapointed! Rated 1 for location only!

When I first spoke to the agent she tried to charge me more than was advertised, she agreed to give me the advertised price and I mailed a check for the deposit as they do not take credit cards as advertised. Every time we talked she couldn't seem to remember how much we had agreed on or when we were to arrive, and kept trying to charge to the higher price. Several weeks before we were to go, she called and said owner wanted me to pay the balance then and not when we arrived, I did not do this. She required me to pay in cash when we met her in Katy to get the key, which I found strange. The pictures on the web site looked good and the reviews were glowing so I was shocked and very disappointed to the point of tears when we got there. It was not nearly as good as the pics made it look. It was very old and not well maintained. The front windows were cracked in several places and the outside was very junky, we walked in to ants all over the floor and the kitchen counter we never did use because of them, there was still dirty laundry in the bathroom hamper and it smelled like sewer. Things were not as advertised: Has a queen bed not a king. Air conditioning only in LR which kept shutting off and didn't cool well and there was a big gap where it was installed which let hot air in, and the bed room had a box fan. The TV was mounted 8' off the floor and did not work, there is no DVD player, we actually went to Wal-mart and bought DVD's to watch on our computer at night. The high speed internet is dial up that we couldn't connect to in the bedroom. There is no ice maker unless it means the ice cube trays. The couch was so uncomfortable that we never did set on it, there were no back cushions, only 3 small throw pillows, we sat in the small wicker chairs with outdoor cushions on them which were also not comfy for the long haul. There is wall to wall furniture and owners collections everywhere it is over whelming. If I were renting out a home I would keep personal effects to a minimum. The charcoal grills grate was rusted. Although the view was remarkable from the deck, you couldn't see much of it from inside except for a small area in the LR unless you stood up as there is a giant box of a dog house right in front of the windows. I have never complained or left a bad review for a place, but I felt the need to do so this time. We had friends over and they too were shocked at the condition. We will never rent this place again and will not recommend it to anyon

Relax and Unwind

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at A Frame Vista. A great place to get away from it all and it's just a short walk to the beach. Really hated to leave.

Cute and quiet and somewhat clean. Beautiful views from deck. AC barely worked though and it was uncomfortably warm in house. Upstairs was full of junk and main exhaust fan was dead. Would've really helped push out the hot air. Were asked not to use towels, bed was hard, and the two pillows on it had loud crunchy plastic on them. House was full of empty boxes, broken fans, and despite saying no pets allowed, had a huge dog house on deck and pet supplies and fenced yard. Plus was that it had private parking, two minute walk to beach, and was just far out enough away from the tourists of summer. If AC worked properly and it was decluttered (dressers and closets full of stuff so no where to put clothes and luggage) it would have the potential to be a perfect little retreat. Also the sunning platform was very wobbly and they had people by every day to feed the stray cats in the neighborhood. Allowing pets would be a plus too since its obviously set up for them and we would have loved to bring our Chihuahua/Terrier mix. But despite its views and privacy, the air conditioner was the main complaint. It was literally falling to pieces on the outside and moldy on inside. The mold and dust in the house had us waking up with stuffed noses and sinuses every morning. It was cheap but I guess u get what u pay for. If someone put some time and effort into it, would be a perfect couples getaway.

Nice little home. Had a great view! No major problems with the house. A couple of amenities that were advertised are not available. First off, High-speed internet only available via internet wire. There are some open networks you can connect to but I had trouble staying connected in the house itself. Secondly, TV (Antenna) I was told cable wasn't available but thought at least the amenity TV (Antenna) stated was available. And finally DVD Player, There is not DVD player only VHS......"Redbox" does not carry VHS Tapes. Just a couple of things that need some attention on the inside. Now the outside, The yard could use some attention. The yard man could at least rake the hay up after he cuts it. We couldn't go in the yard to play with the kids cuz the gnats and Mosquito's would eat you alive, they were nesting under the hay from the cut grass. I had to rake the hay into piles just to play with the kids. The deck could use some attention, there are loose boards on the deck itself and up on the sun deck the there are boards that are used to make the deck stable that are lose or broken, that lets the deck rock back and fourth. But As I said, We really enjoyed our stay, I just wanted to put that information out so hopefully it can be seen and addressed by the owner/manager. Thanks!
Doesn't get any better for the money

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights here in January and loved it. The house is small but all the room you need for a couple. We loved the front porch, which looks right down to the water. The neighborhood was quiet and we were able to settle right in. We wished we could have stayed longer. The property manager was a very helpful as well. All around a great experience! We're planning on coming back soon!

Perfect for laid-back couple's getaway
January 2, 2012
This cozy A-frame beach bungalow is the perfect spot for a couple looking to get away for a few days. My boyfriend and I went down for a week to relax and enjoy the beach. We loved the floor-to-ceiling windows and the friendly feel overall. We were just a short walk--only 3 minutes--from the beach. The living room, breakfast table, and kitchen are all connected, and from each space you can enjoy the view that reaches beyond the deck. We had a great place to get work done and hang out, and we were still just a short drive from the action downtown and at the Seawall. The manager is friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. You'll feel invited, welcome, and you'll avoid the sterile feel of a pricy hotel.
