Reviews for this vacation cabin rental in Hayward, Wisconsin
Wonderful cabin and lake
September 6, 2013
This is really a great cabin and lake. We have been spoiled for the last 17 years with the "perfect" cabin so we are hard to please which is the only reason for 4 stars. We appreciate that we could bring our dogs with us. They loved the lake. The cabin is cozy and well stocked. Most importantly, fishing was good. We caught lots of good-sized northern and bass. Many people on the lake were fishing for crappie and blue gill but we love the sport fish. We had to rent a boat/motor as one is not provided (another reason for 4 stars). We were told by the boat owner that are no Musky on the lake. The lake view was lovely from a distance and very quiet. Up close the water was clean but filled with algae (in August). There are so many things to like about this place. Karyn is so easy to work with which is a huge benefit. She was so responsive to our questions and so helpful.

We enjoyed our week at this cute little cabin - and really appreciated that our dogs could join us on our vacation. Not much luck fishing Lake Chetac, but a lovely lake for boating and looking at all the wildlife. Lots of good lakes nearby to check out and try fishing-wise. Lovely area, friendly people and a nice, quiet vacation. Hayward is a short drive away if you are in need of anything, with a Wal-Mart and Marketplace grocery store handy. Lots of cute shops on the main street in Hayward as well.

Cute, Cozy and Clean!
August 23, 2013
This was our first time staying at this cabin and we were a little apprehensive, however that all went away when we arrived. The cabin was cute, cozy and clean. We really liked that we were able to bring our dogs with us. The owners were extremely helpful and very friendly! We rented a pontoon boat from a resort down the road for a day and enjoyed our time on the lake. Chit Chat Bar (walking distance from the cabin) has excellent wings and burgers. Thank you the week was great and relaxing!

We stayed June 29th -July 5th and had a fabulous time.. The cabin was very clean and has everything you need and if you forget something - the Edgewater Store which is just up the hill will more than likely have it and if they don't they will tell you where you can find it.. The lake was great for fishing and we caught Crappie and Northern very close to where the dock is situated. We enjoyed being able to have our dog with us, as alot of resorts do not allow pets. The owners were very helpful with anything we needed. Weather was perfect, Fishing was great, and also stopped up at the Chit Chat Bar for some Karaoke on a couple of the nights which is within walking distance... All in all... I highly recommend this cabin and this lake for anyone wanting to getaway.

Late summer getaway a success!

There were no problems at this lovely vintage 1940's cabin in God's country. Cabin was darling and cozy with a great view of the lake. We were provided with everything stated in the agreement. Loved the antique decorations and "feel" of the place. Roads and lakes and woods around the property were beautiful, great for fishing, canoing or hiking. Neighbor friendly, Edgewater Store owners friendly. Flock of geese that visited every day were friendly. Spotted eagles, ducks, fish (!) squirrels, pheasants, porcupine, deer and heard the hauntingly beautiful call of the loon. Great weather, stars and full moon made bonfires a hit. Didn't even need to use the gas heater as it was 80s during the day and 55 to 60 at night-perfect sleeping weather. Chitchat bar and resort had awesome burgers and PineRidge Resort had awesome fishfry. Would come back again. The only quirky thing was the acorns that kept falling like rain every day and night from the trees, sort of like Russian Roulette when sitting by the fire. Ha. I never had an acorn land on my head, although my girlfriend and husband experienced that. Kind of funny actually. (I started singing Acorns Keep Falling on my Head-must have kept them away from me- Overall, a wonderful 4 days in beautiful lake country. Thanks for a memorable stay! I would have given this a 5 star except for the water was green with algae and you couldn't swim in it. However, you could fish and canoe. Earlier in the season, it would be a 5 star for a "rustic, cozy" getaway. :)
Fantastic cabin for our cycling get away!!!
July 6, 2011
This cabin is located in a perfect area for cycling enthusiasts!! The cabin comes highly recommended for any cyclist who literally wants to ride out of bed and experience various thirty mile rides in all directions. Each day was a new cycling experience for my wife and I. The cabin is situated on a beautiful lake, and near County Road F which is perfect for cycling. The owners and neighbors are very friendly and we could not have had a better experience. The Cabin is within a half hour drive of beautiful Hayward Wisconsin. It is also perfect for anyone who wants to eat their meals out doors and watch bald eagles fly overhead and even land within 20 feet.
Relief from the humidity!
October 28, 2010
Ok. So I'm a little late(10/10) in writing this but here goes. LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT. Some of my family members came with me and stayed a couple days and then others came towards the middle of the week. The weather was BEAUTIFUL, after a week of high humidity...I had picked the best week of all. The cabin was awesome, everything you need to enjoy your stay. Never leave the lawn chairs on the dock though...my son had to go swimming for 2 of them and the wind was not even blowing that strong. We spent most of our time at the cabin, on the dock and then on my brothers boat. I will be back,,,in fact have already booked for 2011! Thanks
Nice cabin, quiet area
August 17, 2009
This is a very nice little cabin in an area next to a resort. For the entire week, it was very quiet and peaceful, just what I needed. The beach is ok, but not too kid-friendly, although my kids didn't seem to mind. We didn't fish or go boating, but it looks like fisherman's heaven with all the boats out early in the day. The area is beautiful with lots of oak, maple and other hardwoods. I would say it's an area more geared towards adults, however, so if you're looking for a place that will keep the kids busy, you might want to try somewhere else. We took our dog, and she had a wonderful time playing on the big yard. All in all, it was great. Thanks!

We picked this cabn off of the internet and drove 1600 miles one way to spend two weeks. It was everything we expected - PLUS! Pat & Karyn were great hosts, easy to deal with and Pat taught me how to catch fish. We definetly recommed their cabin for a great peaceful vacation. Cliff & Stephanie Davis Corpus Christi, TX *****

This quaint little cabin met all our needs with getting away from the constant demands of life! With no landline phone and limited cell phone service, we were able to make the most of the week. I loved walking into the living room to the warm morning sunshine beaming thru the kitchen and living room windows and spending afternoons playing fetch and bean bags on the immense lot. My husband could not get over the fishing--morning, noon or night—it did not matter they were always biting! Big plus for us amateurs. Lastly the shower . . . temperature control and pressure is critical in my book next to the affordability and location.

We spent 5 days up at the cabin and it was perfect! Our hosts were so nice and inviting and there was plenty to do. The price was VERY affordable and we would recommend this to anyone interested in getting away to re-charge the batteries!

Charming little cabin. Perfect for just the two of us.In need of some small repairs here and there(bathroom),but all in all a good experience.

The family stayed in the cozy cabin for 4 nights in fall of 2006. Pat & Karyn are great hosts. Fishing was excellent for us. Caught numerous good sized bluegills, some perch, northern, and a 4# largemouth bass. Can't wait to return in the spring of 2007 for some walleye action.
