beautiful but disappointing

July 30, 2014

I took my family to Houghton lake. Upon arrival at our unit we smelled gas. I called and the owner said husband had relit pilots because previous people complained of leak and gas was off. We turned off the gas and couldn't use the stove. My daughter sat on chair and leg came off the chair. No big deal because owner allowed us to use next doors cabins facilities. After the second day of a week stay the toilet wouldn't flush. I text concerns and rented pontoon. We plunged toilet and it backed into the tub. Needless to say the bathroom was ripe. So we used next doors. But it wouldn't go down either. Then washing dishes had to be done outdoors because sewage backed up in therein the kitchen. It also overflowed out vent cap by door between facilities. The cabin was very nice and we liked the view. Dispute everything we enjoyed ourselves. Our autistic child had difficulties handling the bathroom situation! We liked being near the water and the view of the lake. The owners were apologetic about the situation.
