Property Review Ocean Watch Condo

The accomodations were all satisfactory. The walk to the beach was short and this time of year the beach is is not crowded.

This is the second year we have stayed in Ocean Village. This unit was beautiful! Perfect location. The golf shack was steps away from the back door and the restaurant; library, pool and tiki bar were also close as well as the beach. Everyone is so friendly. Truly southern hospitality! The unit was well stocked. It was perfect! We will definitely stay here in the future. Highly recommend this to all my friends. Just a short drive to watch our son play college baseball spring training. We didn't want to leave the fantastic weather.

We were expecting a very nice experience and spent extra money to stay in the large Junior Suite. But after the very pleasant check in, it went a bit downhill. Not typical of a Marriott like this. Walls paper thin so could hear everyone and everything adjacent and outside. Room doors slam hard and loud and walls not solid enough to absorb sound. Weather was very pleasant while there but we couldn't open a single window in the bedroom, and we could not leave the slider in back open overnight since we were on the ground floor and couldn't lock the screen door and there were no other windows. Second day we forgot to take off do not disturb sign from doorknob when leaving room, but we didn't mind room not being made up. We didn't make same mistake again, but a couple days later room wasn't made up at all and we were gone almost all day. One morning we woke to bathroom in room above us leaking water onto our bedroom carpet, fortunately between the two beds. The covering we quickly grabbed from bed to catch water was later put back on our bed still wet when room made up by housekeeping late in the day. After no one showing up from housekeeping most of that same day, we had to call them to come and make up beds and vacuum the ceiling debris from workmen accessing pipes above to check/fix leak. We felt hotel management should have paid extra attention to get our room cleaned up after the leak. The pool is small for a hotel this size. The workout gym is average. The bathroom toilet/shower/tub layout with door against toilet is awkwardly tiny given the large size of the suite. There was supposed to be a kitchenette, and while it had a MW, mini fridge and small sink, there was nothing else provided in the cabinets in the way of dishes or utensils. Real mugs would have been better than paper cups for coffee/tea. The wifi was very weak and inconsistent - and didn't work at all in the evening when we wanted it most. The internet cable provided didn't help. Even though we stayed in the more newly renovated building near the golf and marina side, it didn't seem to be worth it. Would have been better off staying in the Marriott building that's right on the beach. Views would have been nicer. Aside from the suite living area being very spacious, the best things we can say about our stay was the comfortable duvets on the beds and the ease of getting fresh towels for the beach. Overall we felt the cost of our stay was not worth it at this hotel.
