Reviews for this vacation cabin rental in Jasper, Arkansas
Awesome hidden gem!
July 31, 2015
This cabin is amazing! It's private and safe as you can lock the gate behind you so no one can pull up to the house. The creek is great for fishing and wading around in the water! The size of the house is amazing and way bigger than we needed but our choice to come here was worth it !!!!

The house was very spacious and right by the creek. The kids loved playing in the creek. The place was close to many of the attractions we wanted to do like Twin Falls, Alum natural bridge, access to Buffalo River, Sams Throne, Red Rock, and my favorite the Lost Valley Trail.

The owner was wonderful to work with. The location was great for day hikes at Pedestal Rocks n Sam's Throne n Alum Cove. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped. It was peaceful, isolated and easy to find.

We spent 7 days in this vacation home. This home is better than the pictures. It is very spacious and gave me and my three boys room to relax and read a book in silence as well as come together for games, meals and a late night movie. The home is decorated in a comfortable elegance with everything we needed right there; plenty of towels, linens, cleaning supplies, cook books, games, DVD's, CD and local magazines. There is lots of space out side for hitting golf balls, frizbee or flying a kite. The creek that runs on the side of the property was a nice place to sit and let the water run over your legs or float on a air bed just a little farther down. If you want to enjoy the creek it is surrounded by trees and brush so be prepared for tics. But just like any wooded area that is the trade for the beauty. Just up the road a mile is a great little dinner with wonderful homemade pies and ice cream. We also drove about 45 mile on highway 65 North to Branson and spent time in the city then would come back to our nice quite retreat to sit by the fire and watch the stars and fireflies, which together you you could tell where one started and the other ended. The owner was great to deal with and called to check if everything was satisfactory the day we arrived. I have booked three vacations using rental homes and will never go back to a hotel again. I would recommend this location and will visit again. Thank you for providing such a clean and spacious home for families like mine to make unforgetable momories.

This is not our first time staying at this cabin and everytime it has been fantastic. It is clean, big and has awsome activities from fishing to swimming very close by. My favorite thing has to be the fire pit. It is so nice to build a fire and kick back with family and friends and roast marshmellows while gazing up into the vast display of stars. This is an awesome cabin! The pineda/Tucker family

If you want peace and relaxation then this is your place. I loved it there and was extremely sad when it was time for us to leave. Awesome is the word to describe this place. It was priced just right and it was worth every penny of it. I hope you get the chance to go there and stay. There are outdoor activities and wildlife everywhere you look there. The cabins had everything you could possibly need and then some. I would recommend this place to anybody. Can't say enough great things about this place. You will have to go check it out to understand how great it really is.
Great little cabin in Arkansas
November 30, 2010
We are always looking for the ideal cabin to go with friends and our pet for long winter weekends. This cabin is new, beautifully decorated, and a value price. We wish it had a fireplace, but the wood stove was fine, just not as homey, and it was a long way from our preferred hiking trails. Nevertheless, we would easily return to this attractive cabin with such a great kitchen and large comfortable bedrooms and baths. The upstairs bath can only be reached through one of two bedrooms, which was a bit sad for the third bedroom occupant who chose to go downstairs for bathroom time. Great views, terrifically helpful friendly owner, great place for a value price, in our experience in the area. Plus, our Lab was able to join us, which is a requirement for our cabin choices. If this cabin had had a fireplace, it would be a 5 star without question.

Misty Creek cabin is everything we expected it to be. The cabin had everything we needed and much more. The views and scenery are breathtaking. Evenings on the patio were the highlight of our trip. I did not realize that I had missed fireflies until the first night there. The fireflies were so abundant that you could not tell where the sky and stars ended, it seemed to reach to the ground... it was like our own private fireworks show everynight. The creek and swimming areas are clear and cool, I only wish there was a view from the house of the water - however you can hear the creek water rippling over the rocks from the house. The only negative aspect was the proximity of the 2 highways and the traffic (dirt bikes and 3/4 wheelers) during the day and early evening.... that is what I wanted to escape from. We are die hard beach vacationers, but we all know where that is this summer. Misty Creek was a pleasant change of pace for us and we will rent this cabin again. Next trip in the fall hopefully! I recommend Misty Creek to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of North Arkansas... it is incredible!
Perfect Getaway Weekend
May 6, 2009
This cabin was the perfect getaway. We usually camp, but we knew it was going to be a wet weekend and found this cabin on the internet. The owner was extremely fast to get back with me and was very helpful and courteous. The cabin was beautiful and spacious. All the amenities were nice, new and clean. Beds were comfortable and everything we forgot was already there for us. Being animal people we loved that there were several friendly cats and dogs that hung around outside. Since our float trip was rained out, it was nice to have the cabin to stay dry, watch tv and play games in. With Branson only an hour drive for shopping and Mystic Caverns close for a cave tour, the girls did not get bored. The guys had fun hitting golf balls, fishing and building a fire outside. We will definately be back here for a visit!
From the journal at the cabin: Our family thanks you for our wonderful stay in such private luxury. The breathtaking beauty of the area is astounding. Our swimming holes were surrounded by limestone escarpments. The night sounds were serenely peaceful. We enjoyed it all -- crawdads, buzzards, wild turkeys & more.
The Rinakers, Lincoln NE
From the journal at the cabin: Misty Creek is perfectly located in an area that looks like a National Park! Such natural beauty & resources abound. The red bluffs & rolling hills are amazing...and we especially appreciate the constant patrol of dragonflies. We never saw one mosquito! We kept ourselves & 3 sons busy w/golf, grilling on the firepit, & exploring Big Creek. ... Thanks for providing such a great cabin.
The Prescotts, Boca Raton FL
From the journal at the cabin: Our family of six loved the beautiful home here on the creek! We enjoyed wading (very much) and spent lots of time at the swimming holes on the other side of the bridge. It was HOT while we were here, but that made all the comforts INSIDE that much more enjoyable. You have a lovely home, beautifully decorated. We are a pastor's family needing a break and this was a welcome respite. We loved the beauty of this spot -- such a testimony to God's handiwork. Blessings! We'd love to come back!
The Hobbs Family
From the journal at the cabin: We had a wonderful time! Thank you for the use of your beautiful and comfortable house. Our kids loved the creek and played in it every day! We loved our canoe trip down the river and hiking trips! We will recommend your home to our friends in Texas!
The Kupper & Mulligan Families, Austin TX
From the journal at the cabin: We had a wonderful time here. This place is awesome. Very clean! The weather was perfect and everything that we needed was provided in the cabin. Washer & dryer was a big help. P.S. the cookbooks were a big help.
The Spenke & Josi Families
From the journal at the cabin: What an amazing place for 3 little boys to explore nature! We really enjoyed taking them down to the swiming holes! They became master crawfish netters! ... We spent a day touring caverns and also hiked the beautiful Lost Valley Trail. Thanks for this golden opportunity to watch our kids experience the beautiful Jasper area!
From the journal at the cabin: We loved our time in this remote little piece of America the Beautiful. Two families, each with a young daughter, found the escape from city life to be just what we were hoping for. We went to Pruitt Landing and found a secluded bank to sit and play with just the perfect part of the Buffalo to wade & swim and for the mommies to sunbathe on floate....We were impressed with the local quality food.
From the cabin's journal: Once again we had a great time! We really enjoyed the firepit and the creek. We drove down to Kyle's Landing (very steep!), beautiful views! Thank you again, we'll be back!
The Cordogan Family, Memphis TN
From the cabin's journal: Thank you so much for letting us stay in your cabin. Everything was just great. We had such a good time here. The kids really enjoyed the creek and being able to play outside. We will always remember the wonderful things we did while we were here. Can't wait to come back.
The Winters Family, Dallas TX
Love the nights here. The cicadas are great. The fireflies are cool, enjoyed the whipoorwills. But best of all...the frogs the BOING like a mouth harp. Golfing was OK, but too many hazards (woods, creek, etc.) :-) Wonderfully outfitted cabin. Well done!
the Byrd & Blumberg Families, Minneapolis Minn.
From the journal at our cabin: We immensely enjoyed our company's weekend here. This is the best place for entertaining our families. We plan on making this a tradition.
The Wallis Construction Company
From our journal at the cabin: Thank you for a great relaxing vacation. We had everything we needed at the tip of our fingers. We enjoyed every minute on your property from the creek to to the fire pit. We even enjoyed sitting outside on the patio during a few thunderstorms. You just don't get this fresh air in the city. Your house is beautiful and you should be very proud.
The Lhotka's, Chicago Ill.
From our Journal at the cabin: We had such a wonderful time at Misty Creek. The house is beautiful & has everything you need! My husband loved fishing up & down the creek & I enjoyed putting a chair in the creek & reading a book and getting some sun. We saw 4 elks in the front yard! Thanks for a wonderful time!
The Dillons, Mustang OK
From the journal at the cabin: It far exceeded our expectations and your extra efforts to provide a unique and warm interior decor do not go unnoticed! Our kids spent hours wading and exploring at the creek, we had to pull them away. The location of the cabin is pretty central to all of the fun things to do aruond here. We would highly recommend either of your cabins to anyone looking to get away from it all in comfort, privacy and style.
