Home away from Home

We truly loved the cabin. Phil the owner was is so kind and supplies everything you need. We enjoyed waking up in the morning to look out to the river from the bed to listening the birds sing. It really was a peaceful getaway from the world. I really loved how far back from the main road it is no connection to the crazy life we all live in. WE WILL BE BACK SOON!

My husband and I stayed for a total of 4 nights, including Christmas, and loved every minute of it. If you need a TV to relax you are in the wrong place, although there was an old tv and a VCR with family friendly movies available. This cabin is all about getting away from it all. It was very cozy and the gas stove with a nice programmable thermostat provided lots of heat and comfort. The less electricity you use the less you need to run the generator, we ran it for about an hour a day which gave us a small light in each room and used candles to supplement, which made the atmosphere even cozier. We also used a cooler on the deck outside instead of plugging in the fridge. Even the stereo (we played a bunch of old cassette tapes, the radio signal is not very clear) was not a problem to run for a while. If you are looking to not be bothered by anything or anyone and want to enjoy nature, but want a warm and cozy place to come home to, this is it.

Beautiful but roughing it

This is a gorgeous location nestled into the woods with a rushing creek out your bedroom window. It is at least a 20 minute drive to I-5. If you ever wondered what life was like living off the grid this cottage offers a wonderful introduction. No phone service, no internet, and power from gasoline generators. Once the generator is switched off power is supplied by car batteries through an invertor. And the only sound you can hear then is the river (unless the neighbor's generator is running). It has a full kitchen, hot water, and gas stove for heat. Overall it is a unique experience in a delightful setting.

This cabin, while a little remote, is amazing and perfect for a quiet getaway. The deck, complete with woodburning stove, overlooks a rushing river and beautiful trees and is a balm to any city stress you may still be holding onto. Phil and Leslie are very sweet and charming and provided not only all the kitchen necessities but also a couple of bottles of wine. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to return some day.

Great cabin - beautiful setting

I stayed in the cabin for a week while visiting family in the area for a wedding. With family, it was all rush, rush, rush, but at the cabin, all was peaceful and quiet. In fact, I got the best sleep that I've had in years! Typically up at five or so, I found myself sleeping in late almost every day. My visit was rejuvenating. The only sound I heard at night was the gentle gurgle from the stream. Mornings were just a bit nippy this time of year, but not so nippy that I couldn't enjoy my morning coffee and bagel on the deck overlooking the stream. I strongly recommend rising early at least one morning, so that you can catch sunrise from the deck. The kitchen is well stocked, so all I needed to bring was food, and the owners greeted me on my arrival with a bag of local coffee - how nice! My only regret is that I wasn't able to spend every minute of my trip at the cabin. It is thoughtfully laid out, comfortable, and very snug. I spent several evenings enjoying a good book while curled up on the downstairs sofa, and could have happily done the same every night.

We stayed in this wonderful cabin while working in the area. Really enjoyed the extreme piece and quite. The owners are great and the cabin is very comfortable and all at a very reasonable price. We have family in this area and often work in the area and hope this cabin is available when we return
