The condo you'll be enjoying is located in a complex called Moon Bay, which is more like a resort than a condominium. There are two pools, free tennis courts, saunas, a private boat slip, and a dock for fishing and saltwater swimming, to mention just a few of the amenities.
Moon Bay has two pools, with plenty of deck for soaking up the sun. There are restaurants, right on the water within walking distance. There is also a bike and jogging path across the street.
The condo is only a short drive from Everglades National Park, and just over a mile away is John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. As the home of mainland America's only living reef, Pennekamp is world-famous as an outstanding spot for scuba diving and snorkeling. Saltwater fishing in the Keys attracts people from all over the world.
The unit has two bedrooms and a bath and a half. The entire unit is air-conditioned. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. There are three televisions, CD player, DVD, and a video and music library. There is a free washer and dryer in the unit. You'll also have access to a recreation room with ping-pong, and an outdoor grill right on the waterfront.
My rates for four guests start at $895.00 There is a $200.00 security deposit on first rentals. Monthly rates start at $2,495.00. Ask me about last minute discounts.
If I am booked I will suggest the nicest condo open the day you need.
Moon Bay is such a special place -- I'm sure you'll love it. I'm happy to provide any information you need. Feel free to ask questions on the Keys or Moon Bay no matter where you decide to stay.
Best wishes for a wonderful Moon Bay vacation in the sun.
Regardless of where you stay feel free to ask me questions on Moon Bay or the Fabulous Florida Keys. I have a home made "e-mail brochure" on just about every Keys subject I will be glad to e-mail you.
Thanks for your interest in Moon Bay

Reviews for this vacation condo rental in Key Largo, Florida

Our visit to Moon Bay was just great. We needed warm weather and sunshine, since the winter up north had been so nasty. Our condo was just as nice as it was described to us and the photos showed it to be. The views of the Gulf out the windows and balcony were truly breath taking 24/7. The condo offered every accommodation anyone would ever need. It was just like being at home except for the wintery weather we had left behind. We definitely would recommend Moon Bay to anyone and would like to return sometime in the future. The individual we rented the condo from was one of the sweetest individuals we have ever dealt with. She was so accommodating and truly wants to have her tenants have a great vacation. Although we are not fisherman or folks who engage in water sports we found plenty of things to do while there. We toured the Everglades a few times, when on boating tours, toured a few historic homes in Miami, visited the Zoo, drove down to Key West, visited some of the State Parks. The local eateries had excellent food especially the seafood. The fact there were not a lot of fast food places was so refreshing. Shopping in the are is limited although we were able to spend an entire day checking out the local businesses and discovered some interesting souvenirs for ourselves and family to take back home. Close to the end of our stay we went to the Pennekamp State Park which is well worth visiting its beautiful. What many may not take advantage of is the movie they show there about the Coral Reef and aquatic life. It is truly an amazing educational experience that everyone who comes to the area needs to see. It is quite long but well worth the time spent watching it.

We loved staying in the condo, we are really tired of hotels and this had the feel of home away from home. The condo had a wonderful view of the Florida Bay and the sunsets. It was so comfortable and had everything we needed. The Keys of course are fantastic and we loved the dolphins, John Pennekamp Park, Treasure of the Sea and of course fabulous restaurants. We will definitely plan to go back.

This is a very nice property on the strip of Key Largo. The condo was very clean and roomy. The complex has a very nice pool and is on the side of the Keys facing the Everglades. My only disappointment was that there wasn't a beach and no sidewalks. The people were very friendly at the condo complex and would recommend it if you don't mind not having a beach or a place to walk.
Absolutely correct about the beach. There are no World Class Beaches in the Keys. I take my grandkids to Miami Beach when they need a World Class Beach fix.
I do not understand the sidewalk comment..Directly across the street is a bike, jogging path, that goes over 100 miles to Key West. I have ridden my bike on it 100 miles. It is paved all the way.
Great place with the feel of home

Started our search of a place to stay in the Keys and after much searching, this place more than met our needs. Jeannie kept in close contact thru the process and made the payment transfer simple and assuring. The unit was modestly described and so many more little extras upon arrival. We have confidence of VHR and this owner, Thanks Jeannie! Will return.......

Best you'll find

Everything was fantastic and exactly as Capt. Don stated in the advertisement. This place is so convenient to diving and other activities. There's a lot to do there including just relaxing. The place was immaculate and had a lot of amenities for the activities (not normally found in a rental unit). I can't say enough good things about my experience in renting from Capt. Don. The diving was perfect.

Our family just got home from a vacation in this condo. It was amazing. It was everything that was advertised and more. It looks just like the photos, and has everything you could need. We spent the week snorkling, and swimming and having a blast with our two 18 year old kids. I would recomend this property to anyone. The view of the water is fantastic and rooms were comfortable.

Beautiful Moon Bay Condo
March 23, 2009
This unit is everything the owner claims and is like your "home away from home." Beautiful sunset view from the unit as well as the dock. Close to everything you need. Extremely well kept unit. The complex is also immaculate; beautiful pool area and grounds. The only complaint (minor) is road noise from the highway, and 2 full baths would have worked out better for 2 adult couples. The owner was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend this unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pennekamp Park. About a mile south of Moon Bay on the other side of the road. Take the glass bottom boat or better yet, take the snorkel boat. Both go to the coral reef. Take the board walk through the mangroves. Rent a canoe.
Everglades National Park... You will pass the road to the Park in Florida City as you drive to Moon Bay. Stop at the Visitors Center and then the Gumbo Limbo Trail. Unless you are a serious naturalist you need go no farther. Combine this with a stop at the Outlet Mall.
Everglades National Park - Everglades National Park
Key West... Most guests enjoy a drive to Key West. Take the Conch Train (tram) ride in Key West. A bit expensive .($25.00) Do not miss the Sunset Celebration on Mallory Pier. I suggest you leave Moon Bay early and stop for breakfast on the way. Have lunch in Key West and have dinner on the road on the way back to Moon Bay. Key West is only two hours away, but eating at restaurants on the water is fun. The scenery to Key West is spectacular. You will travel over bridges with the Atlantic Ocean on your left and the Gulf of Mexico on your right.
I hate jet skis but to my grandkids they are the high point of the trip. You can rent one a few hundred yards south of Moon Bay. They also have parasail rides. ($39.00) You can also rent kayaks just south of Moon Bay If you think you may do this ask me to send you my brochure on "boats" and hidden trails.
Try fishing from the Moon Bay pier. You should find all the equipment
you need in the second bedroom closet. You can make up bait from stuff in
the refrigerator. Or, go to the Yellow Bait House for real bait.
Take a charter boat and fish for the "big" ones. Not cheap.
If you are only semi interested in fishing, there is a party boat
that leaves from Holiday Isle. Half day is $35.00. Ask me for a discount coupon.
Try your hand at tennis on the Moon Bay courts. There are tennis racquets
in the same closet. There may or may not be tennis balls depending on what
the previous guests did with them. You can buy balls at K-Mart. There is a basketball hoop. Bring you own ball. There is a small 12 volt air compressor in the second bedroom.
Spend a day at Ann's Beach. Around MM 72 ocean side. Take the cooler
from Moon Bay and pack a lunch. This is one of the better beaches in the
Keys. You will find ice packs in the freezer.
You may consider driving to Miami Beach and spend the day on their world class beach. Bring a picnic lunch in the Moon Bay cooler if you want to save $. Have lunch on South Beach is you want to splurge.
Rent a boat on a calm day and take a trip to ocean side through Adams Cut.
Adams Cut is a short way to the ocean and Europe. I do not suggest going to
the reef in a small boat with a family unless you are an experienced seaman. Ask for my handout on boats.
If your family can do a fifteen mile bike trip they can get within touching distance to wild alligators. Let me know if you want more information. You can also take a tram.
Everglades National Park: Biking the Shark Valley Tram Road
If you are enjoy golf, ask for my brochure on golf courses near Moon Bay.
Let me know if you need more suggestions or you have any questions. Tell me something about things your family enjoys. How old are the children?
You will find a lot more to do than you can do in a month. We have been
spending time in the Keys for over thirty years and there are still things
we haven't done.
