I read a poignant passage in one of the assorted travel books at Hale Momo . It stated "whatever your idea of paradise is, you'll find some version of it in Kauai" Minutes by foot from the gorgeous renowned Poipu Beach, we found our tropical paradise at Hale Momo. We spent our days exploring land and sea in the form of swimming, snorkelling, surfing and hiking and many of our late afternoons on one of the two lanais. They provided a lushly tropical and very private respite for sipping our refreshing beverages after our very active days. Even the resident roosters took on a certain charm! Having the opportunity as a family to stay in a large home that provided ample space to comfortably hold a large group, in our case 7 adults, was particularly enriching. The beds were very comfortable and the white, hotel quality bedding was inviting Staying in the same house allowed us to plan our days together over coffee in the morning and prepare our meals together while leisurely sipping a cocktail and reminiscing over the wonderful events of the day in the evening. It was a bonus to find that many desirable amenities were within walking distance of the home. All of the hotels (my favourite being the Grand Hyatt) have beautiful landscaping and amenities right up to the beaches, and, as all beaches in Kauai are public beaches, made a large variety of hotel restaurants and bars easily accessible to us Not to be missed is Brenneke's restaurant bar, right across the street from Poipu beach. We loved the coconut shrimp and the staff was fun and very hospitable. There is also a nice shopping mall about a 15 minute walk away for groceries, wine, Starbucks etc I think that it is important to note that we visited Kauai in late October/ early November and although the weather network predicted rain for the entire vacation, it was sunny and wonderfully warm - low 80's for the most part, with only a few quick showers. Contributing to the overwhelming feeling of well being were the property management staff. From initial contact to any inquiries during our visit, the property management staff were very helpful, informative and courteous. We highly recommend vacationing at Hale Momo and offer our sincere thank you to the owners of Hale Momo for opening their home and to the property management company!

Private house, Excellent location!

We recently spent a week at Hale Momo with another couple and this was the perfect home for us. It was large enough that each couple had privacy... We both had master bedrooms on opposite sides of the home. With 2 extra bedrooms, it was more space than we needed, but we loved it. The home has a nice open floor plan which made cooking and visiting seamless. The best part of this house is that it was only a block from the beach! The walk was quick & easy. We unfortunately had a rainy day in Kauai (which apparently almost never happens!), but the games room at the house made it totally okay to stay in for the day. We had table tennis, fooseball and a few board games to keep us entertained. When we arrived there was a bag of basic needs, a nice arrival note and lots of clean towels. It was completely ready for us. It was easy to find basic information about the area from a binder, plus things like the wifi password and where to find beach equipment in the house. It was overall an excellent stay and we are looking forward to visiting again soon!
Nicely Designed Interior

The home was everything promised. There was more than enough room for the six of us, three couples. Loved how close the beach was, less than a ten minute walk away. Very well furnished. I don't think there was anything we needed for cooking that we couldn't find. I'm only giving it a four star rating because there is some road noise. (Although it is in a neighborhood, there was traffic in the morning as people went to work and school.) Also, although there was a very good breeze throughout the house, the couple that chose to sleep in the living room on the extended and very comfie couch were uncomfortably warm at night. The other two couples had no issues, so I'm not sure what the issue was. But overall, it was a very nice home and we would certainly consider staying there in the future if we get back to Kuai.
