Reviews for this vacation home rental in Lake Elmore, Vermont
Red Barn was Lovely
August 26, 2013
We spent two weeks at the RedBarn and really loved it. The setting is beautiful and secluded, and the building's elegant and creative architecture was quite special. By far the best thing of course is its proximity to Stowe and the Worcester mountain range. Lake Elmore itself if a tiny town, but in our view that was exactly what we were seeking. We all left with very fond memories of this time.
Thank you for the positive feedback and glad that the vacation was a success. We believe that the Red Barn is a perfect retreat both in Winter and Summer for families with children or those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of work. We believe this is a unique property in a special location. We are seeing guests returning year after year and are always happy to have new guests coming for the first time.

Super accomdations. The house is not only nice but the builder took a lot of time to create the atmosphere. Bedrooms were really nice, baths too. Very very convenient to Stowe, and to Morrisville and also Lake Elmore. House is well equipped, even has wifi. Would recommend for both summer and winter.

Good and bad
July 31, 2010
We enjoyed our week at the Red barn, but have a few issues with the rental. The primary one is that it says that it is Air Conditioned. It is not. There were about 4 fans and 1 ceiling fan. The week had various types of weather, and some very hot days. We were disappointed that the web site was not truthful. We would have enjoyed a front door screen and would have been able to get more air into the house if there had been one. The beds all had bottom sheets and heavy comforters. A top sheet and light blanket would have been better. The dish washer did not work properly. The repair man came and fixed it late in our stay. The toaster didn't work either. There is no land telephone. Be prepared for all these things as they are important when you have a house full of people. It seemed to be geared to winter rentals and not to summer rentals. The kitchen was well equipped. There was lots of room for all of us, 9 adults and two little children. There was a lot of dry food in the cabinets that had expired dates on it. We moved it all out and put it back before we left as the fee for trash is $3.75/bag! I know this sounds like a lot of gripes, but you should know what you are getting into and hopefully something will be done to make it nicer for the next person or group. It is a neat house.

This property is wonderful, there is something fun for everyone! The new addition of the ping pong table was a BIG hit! We had a fabulous time and have already been telling all our friends and family and showing off the pictures! :)
This property is a perfect retreat to chill-out in wonderful surroundings. I would strongly recommend you view this property, once seen you will want to stay.
