Great time

August 20, 2014

We enjoyed the cabin it had all the supply we needed and is in a great location for us.

Owner's reply:

We try to keep things simple and that seems to work. Lake Elmore is a great place to kick back and enjoy Mother Nature and all of her glory.

Even in a hurricane.

September 7, 2011

We arrived on Saturday with an impending hurricane Sunday. The owners were wonderful and made sure we were ok to weather the storm. Everything was fine and we went on to have one of the best, relaxing vacations to date. There is so much to see and do. We hiked Elmore Mt and boated in the lake. The General store in town is a must see and you have to try the cheese. It's Cabot of course. Elmore is called the beauty spot for VT. We understand why!

Elmore Cottage Vacation

July 19, 2011

Since the accommodations did not pretend to be other than a "camp", no more than rudimentary conveniences were expected or experience. There is a full kitchen with adequate refrigerator and stove, a small microwave oven and automatic coffeepot and a TV with DVD and Video player. Only two or three channels were available, but since we were not there for TV, that was no matter. There is also a propane-fired outdoor grill that proved very serviceable. The main cabin has two bedrooms and a large combination kitchen, dining, and living room with OK furniture. There is also a small bath with shower, toilet and washbasin. One of the bedrooms had a comfortable Queen bed, the other tow single beds. Both had chests of drawers and a small closet. The place as a whole was neat and clean. The outbuilding has a a double bed, with enough room for chairs and chest of drawers--also very neat and clean. The cottage is above the camp road, so it does not sit directly on the beach of Lake Elmore, though access to the lake and a dock is readily available a short walk down across the road. While this might be disappointing to some, it was ideal for our party, as we had a 2 1/2 year old toddler, and there was plenty of grass for him to play without having to worry about having him too close to the water. The owners live directly below the cottage in a lakefront home, and were very helpful and friendly, ready to supply anything that was needed. The even took us on a ride around the lake, which was very much enjoyed.

The Perfect Wedding

July 11, 2010

My husband, 9 month old daughter and I stayed in Maple Cottage from July 3-July 10, 2010. It was the perfect size for our family, and it was very baby friendly! Expectedly, it is not an air-conditioned cottage, unfortunately, there was only one fan to try and combat the record highs of the week long heat wave. Luckily, we spent most of our days at Lake Elmore, enjoying the cool water. The first two nights, we did have some vistors, flying ants, that seemed to enjoy the cool shade of two of our front windows, but Joe, was on call and quickly took care of the ants, ensuring that they did not return for the remainder of our vacation. On Wednesday, we held a small intimate wedding at the top of the property. We were shaded by the trees, had a view of the lake, and were surrounded by close friends and family. After our ceremony, we held a barbecue using the grill and eating out on the deck. It was the perfect setting for our loved ones to join in celebration of our marriage. After everyone had eaten their full, we went across the street and down to the dock to cool off in the water. Children were able to fish while the adults waded and swam with the babies. We took walks to the local store every morning and relaxed on the beach every afternoon. Cooked out each night, and enjoyed a week without wi-fi, cell phone reception and t.v. It was a great time to catch up on great conversation, fun games and good books. All in all, a wonderful vacation, beautiful wedding and relaxing times.
