Area Information
The beatiful tree lined rolling hills of Osceola County are the perfect backdrop to this unique lakefront retreat. Revitalized after a sun-soaked rest, fishing expedition and refreshing swim in Sunrise Lake, it's time to do some discovering.
Interested in hiking? Explore The Pierre Marquette State Forest by foot, mountain bike or ATV. Don't forget your GPS; there are no street signs in this 30 square mile jewel.
How about Golf? Just a five minute drive to The Rose: an 18 hole golf course with "picture post card" views on every hole will add to your memories (not your score!).
Looking for a good sale? Shopping in nearby Cadillac, Clare or even Traverse City will satisfy that need to "shop till you drop".
Worked up a hunger? Hermann's gourmet Restaurant in close Cadillac will satisfy your appetite with elegant dishes from the menu or a quick take-out from the in-house deli. Another unique culinary experience can be had at the expansive dining room at The Eldorado with more panoramic views of another wonderful golf course, also in Cadillac.
Feeling Lucky? Cash in at casinos in Traverse City, Manistee and Mount Pleasant.

A Beautiful Lake

July 14, 2015

Our group had a wonderful time up at the Mich Lake House. It was excellent weather for bbq-ing and for getting out in the pontoon boat. The house had a well equipped kitchen and an excellent outdoor seating area. The property overseer, Craig, was helpful in walking us through the place and helping us out when we had a little trouble getting the boat started (we had flooded the engine). The only drawback was that sheets on a few of the beds appeared to be stained. Other than that, the place was well put together and a great value for the amount we paid. Would definitely come back again!

Owner's reply:

Peter: Thanks for your candid review. (And sorry to hear about the engine flooding; Craig never mentioned it!). We have spoken to our cleaning crew about the sheets. They were laundered before you got there. But they may have put on older sheets --- good reminder to stock up and recycle linens, right? Glad to have had you. Hope you come back! (Stop the California "brain drain!!!" LOL).
Best, Kathleen and Dale

Guestbook

We needed a place for our small company retreat. Since there are only 9 of us (before we grow), this property was ideal. We spent half our time working on our plans and presentations. We spent the rest re-charging our batteries at the beach, lake, and hiking. A couple of us even reacquainted ourselves with our golfing skills since The Rose golf course is less than 3 miles away ... and it's a bargain. Thank you so much for a great, affordable, working week. Our small company will flourish, we think. And MichLakeHouse helped!

The team at ardentCause L3C

We could not have found a more restful (but fun!) place to have our family reunion. The kids loved the private beach and lake; the adults loved the two kitchens, the views, the decks; and we ALL enjoyed the firepits. It was great that this was "pet-friendly" too. We couldn't get our Labradors out of the lake, at one point....LOL.

The Reasers

My wife,Sue, and I (and our kids) had a wonderful (away from it all) week at MICHLAKEHOUSE. Sunrise Lake is a hidden gem; so is this large, roomy, and very comfortable property. We'll be back!

A: Fish, traverse the lake in the MichLakeHouse pontoon or in a boat that they have brought and have tied up at their own private dock; relax on their private beach; cook out (there are two grills provided); toast marshmallows at one of the two firepits provided; golf at THE ROSE (only 3 miles away); play games; read; rest and rejuvenate!
Q: What is special about MichLakeHouse?
A: The 2700 square foot cabin can sleep up to 13 people (with pull-out couches); and has a small sunroom, two decks, a large open kitchen and living room; a family room with a wood-burning stove; air-conditioning (if a renter wants that in a particularly hot timeframe); a PRIVATE beach; a PRIVATE dock; and a panoramic view.
Q: If we don't have a boat, can we still enjoy the lake?
A: We provide a (rentable) pontoon boat for fishing, and boating. Very simple to rent and enjoy.
