Too Perfect for Words!

Gorgeous apartment! Loved the knotty pine walls and ceilings. Spacious, well equipped will all conveniences, charming decor and very clean. Lots of sunlight in the living area - large picture windows and sliding glass door to the patio which overlooks the lake (where the view of the sunset is spectacular). Pleasantly dark and cozy, comfortable bedrooms. We all slept like babies, refreshed each day for more adventure. The lake is MAGICAL. No noisy motorboats or jet-skis to disturb the peace or overpower the calling of loons and forest birds. Unless there's a very strong wind, the water is like a mirror, reflecting the trees, the sun, and the moon. Wonderful for swimming, large enough for kayaking, paddleboating or canoeing, yet small enough for our young teenagers to do so in safety. From our chairs on the shore, we could see them clearly no matter where they were. On rainy days, they could watch movies, play video games, ping-pong, billiards, foosball, or beanbag toss in the rec-room downstairs. The small office area provided a great space for my sister-in-law to study for exams. The facilities allowed me to cook for a fairly large dinner party, but we were also very close to the famous Blue Moose restaurant and a short drive to grocery stores and Houlton Dairy Farms Ice Cream Stand. Great trails for hiking and safe, scenic bicycling routes. Our hosts, Carrie and John, were wonderful and always available if we had any questions. The guests at the second property nearby told us they come every year for family reunions and feel like it's their own special home away from home. I know what they mean. When it was time to leave, I almost had to be dragged away by my ankles.
