Lovely condo and view
September 9, 2013
Our experience at this condo was so nice and relaxing. All the employees and security folks were very accomodating and really made us feel welcome. The beach made for amazing snorkeling and we saw lots of turtles. The sunsets were out of this world! This location is definitely set in more of a local town, but all of the locals we talked to were super nice and helpful if we had any questions about beaches or anything of that nature. If you get a chance, find the beach just across from the electric plant just down the road from this condo and go snorkeling! There were fish and turtles EVERYWHERE. It was like swimming through a movie scene. Would definitely stay here again.

Slice of Heaven

We just returned from 8 days in paradise...we stayed at the Hawaiian Princess in Makaha. The condo was amazing. It had so many little things that made the stay extra pleasant. From the water filter, beach towels and beach equipment to the basic cooking supplies and wireless internet that were provided we felt like we had everything we needed. Makaha is WELL often the beaten path. It is perfect for those who want to get away from it all. We were on the "sunny" side of the island which happened totally by chance. The east side is lush rainforest where it (not surprisingly) rains A LOT! We were glad to have been on the side that allowed us to sight see all day and then come home to a private, warm beach guaranteed. Be advised that this is not a high tourist area and you were among the locals. There are few grocery stores and restaurants. But if you are looking for sun, peace and privacy you will not be disappointed!

SO GLAD WE PICKED THIS PLACE!

To start off I just want to say my wife and I had an amazing time. We looked at a few other condo's but by chance decided on this one. We will NEVER stay in Waikiki. Don't get me wrong it's not that Waikiki isn't beautiful like the rest of Oahu but I'm assuming you are thinking about Hawai'i because you would like to relax. Unlike the beaches of Waikiki there was never more than 10 people on the beautiful beach below. We saw sea turtles (honu) from the balcony (lanais) every morning surfing the waves while we ate breakfast. It takes no more than an hour to get pretty much anywhere on the island by car and it was so nice to be able to relax when we got home. Oh, and because you are on the west side of the island you get spectacular beach sunsets! We stayed a week and by day two it already felt like our second home, we will definitely be returning here.

While this condo is a long way from most of the tourist traps, it is beautiful view, saw turtles every morning as we sipped our coffee. Employees of the condo building were so sweet and very helpful. The surf is a little rough for inexperienced swimmers, but honestly we were out and about to other beaches everyday. It is 1 hour to the North Shore, and about an hour to Honolulu. Definitely a bargain in paradise.

My husband and I and our friend stayed in this condo for two weeks. It was everything we could hope for..... and more! This was our first holiday in Hawaii and we couldn't have chosen a better location than this condo in Makaha. The condo is on the 13th floor with an awesome view. The Hawaiian Princess is situated right on the beach, out the door and you are there! We wanted to have a quiet location and this was it... away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We did need a car to get around and do sightseeing ... but it was great doing our 'own thing' and seeing the whole island, that is... when we weren't enjoying our 'private beach' and the wonderful lanai in the condo. We saw whales and turtles from the lanai. The condo was exactly as described and was fully stocked with everything we needed, including all the 'stuff' we needed for the beach. We just had to buy our food. My husband and I would definitely come back to this condo again. We wished we could have stayed longer! Some day, we will be back! Thank you Kim and Jim. We wished we could have met you, but we did meet your mom and she was a delight! Hawaii is heaven on earth..... Mahalo & Aloha, Moira and Wayne

Quiet Turtle Beach

Mahalo nui loa! I had a wonderful time and saw turtles every other day, morning and eve. Breakfast on the lanai every morning...couldn't have asked for anything better. For those who aren't into anything Waikiki, I highly recommend. I didn't mind being with the locals...nothing harried or hurried about them. Just my speed. The beach is great and uncrowded; no fighting for space and nice for snorkling too. For me, it was the place, but then, it wasn't the first time for me in Waianae.

Beautiful, secluded, beach! A real highlight! The view was breathtaking from the 13th story of this condo's lanai. Very enjoyable, memorable times on the lanai, beach and the pool! Condo well stocked, decorated, orderly and clean. Would definitely want to rent this condo again. Owner's are kind and thoughtful!

The condo was very comfortable. The lanai is what we'll miss the most. The sound of ocean waves, watching 1 -2 turtles swim by every day. A couple of days we were able to enjoy seeing several whales playing in the distance. The only con to this location is that you have to drive a bit to get to any of the major sights. However, the pros of what our view was like, far out-weighed the inconvenience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. The owners were spot-on when describing the lanai experience.
10/27/04 Positive My wife and I are Internet shoppers, we buy virtually everything off the Internet, and we prefer to do it as much as possible. But I have to tell you, we were a little nervous about paying 50% as a down and 50% before we got there "hoping everything was above board and was everything like Kim and Jim had said". We trusted them and we were glad we did. Well I am here to tell you, what we experienced was way beyond what they said and then some. We were pleasantly amazed at it all. The 1 bedroom condo was perfect, it was in great condition and we had all the comforts of home plus much much more. Be on the 13th floor and having a sliding door that opened on to the lanai that overlooked the Pacific ocean was one of the best spots in the whole condo. We sat out there in the morning eating fresh pineapple and coconut, drinking coffee and watching the sea turtles swim along the shore line. We even had bird visitors come to the lanai for their morning feeding. It was a cool thing. And then in the evening we experienced the most beautiful sunsets you can ever imagine sitting down into the Pacific ocean. We had a wonderful 10 day experience and when we go back to Hawaii again, we will want to stay there for sure. Lewis

08/28/04 Positive Fabulous! We wanted a beautiful and quiet beach for our stay on O'ahu, and that's exactly what we got! The condo is very nice, very comfortable and well furnished (it had everything!). But the beach was perfect - great for snorkeling, surfing swimming or just relaxing. Because the beach looks out to the west, we saw some great sunsets, too.
On our first day, we watched a school of dolphins for most of the morning. They'd troll lazily back and forth in our little bay looking for their breakfast. We saw big sea turtles almost every day.
The beach is more secluded than most, with lots of sand, a few palm trees - just about right. One of the better places to stay.

11/26/05 Positive My wife and I stayed here on the final leg of our honeymoon last year, and we loved it. The beach was uncrowded, and we even had good surf one day. We still use photo of a rainbow over the beach out front we took from the lanai as our computer desktop background - absolutely beautiful views. Good surf shop nearby; more of a local and less touristy vibe than other areas.

12/30/05 Positive Just returned today from a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. We spent 3 days at the condo. It was inviting, comfortable and very thoughtfully decorated. All the amenities of home with a wonderful sunset view. Can't wait to go back! If you have an opportunity, don't miss this condo!
01/30/06 Positive We really loved the the condo especially being on the 13th floor with the incredible view of sunsets, whales, sea turtles, rainbows and of course the beach! We appreciated all the ammenities of the condo and especially the guide book of Oahu which we used as our bible as we toured around the island with our two teenagers who loved staying here as well. They enjoyed the tennis courts, ping pong and loved boogie boarding which we rented from the local surf shop. The local grocery stores had everything we needed for groceries and my husband enjoyed meeting others while BBQ'ing on the main floor. We felt very safe and secure in the building and enjoyed watching the local kids playing in the water in front of condo. Our only complaint was we didn't stay long enough 10 days was way too short! We would like to return to Hawaii again in the future and would definetly stay at Kim and Jim's condo again.

02/19/06 Positive What a fabulous beach and stupendous view from the condo! This is a great getaway, certainly away from the crowds. Nice comfortable condo for two, nice accomodations, very nice facility and good snorkeling. We found no decent places to eat out but eating in was a pleasure.
