This was our second stay at this house and we came back because our first trip was so wonderful. This second weekend did not disappoint either! The home is beautiful and well kept. There is plenty of space so you don't feel crowded and everything is very comfortable. The owners were willing to work with me to make sure the house was ready for our trip and everything was great! I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a weekend getaway - it's affordable, in a great area with many nearby places of interest, and furnished with everything necessary. We hope to come again soon!
Secluded Haven is a beautiful 3 bedroom /2 full bath house on a secluded wooded dead end drive on the edge of downtown South Haven. Not far from the sugar sand beaches of Lake Michigan and also downtown shops both of which people come from all around to enjoy. South Haven is a quaint...

We absolutely loved Robin's Nest. It was spotless. It had everything every member of our family needed for a wonderful get away. The home was extremely clean, comfortable and very private. Delicious homemade cookies were waiting for us in this cozy home. The property is absolutely beautiful in a wooded setting. We took advantage of the fire pit at night for s'mores, charades and scary stories. We used the screen porch for relaxing, playing games and visiting. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and plenty of room for all of us to eat together. We can't say enough great things about this perfect home that made our little vacation outstanding. There was an incredible amount of attention to every little detail of this home. A big thank you to Robin for making this a wonderful get away for our family. We are already beginning our plans to return!Arlene and Steve
Our house is really just 2 minutes to the sandy beach on Lake Michigan. There are no stairs, just walk onto the sugar sand beach and you have arrived! ! Stanley Johnston Park is across the street from our house (Craft shows in select Summer months. ) A great house for family reunions,...
We were 15 adults and 2 little ones, and spent a lovely three days at this house. The dining room table was big enough for every one, the porches were lovely places to sit and chat, and there were several rooms and conversation groupings indoors when the weather got chilly. The kitchen was spacious, with room to prepare hearty meals. The beds were comfortable. The house had a lot of character, and the owners were prompt in their communications.
Enjoy our super clean cottage just 2 short blocks down unpaved roads to private Lake Michigan access or drive 1/3 mile to Township Beach/Park. Both have easy beach access... no high bluff nor a ton of steps. WASHER/ DRYER, CABLE TV, DVDS AND VCRS AND HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS- ...
We stayed here for 4 nights and found the home very comfortable and the neighborhood mellow. They have everything you would need plus more. As soon as we walked in it reminded me of my grandparents home near Lake Michigan.
As far as the area a few notes: The only place you would ride a bike is on Notre Dame Ave. There are NO bike lanes so this is not a friendly biking community. At the end of Chicago Ave. (right down the street from the house) is beach access, but not really a beach since most of it is eroded. A nice place to watch a sunset from on top of a dune. NOT accessible for the elderly. Not far from there is another small park you can go to, but once again no beach to speak of. We rode our bikes to Grand Mere State Park and at the end of the trail are sand trails that take you to the lake. We loved it, but not easy to get to. A really hike up and down the dunes but well worth it. We did notice a road with a handicap sign for beach access. Maybe old and young can use it but not sure.
You are very close to St. Joseph. Had a nice lunch there and went to Silver Beach. I've been coming to Lake Michigan for 40 years and was very disappointed in how dirty this beach was. Pretty area and nice little downtown too.
Saugatuck is an hour drive and South Haven 30 minutes. Both areas worth driving to. Our favorite was the bike trails in South Haven and the beaches. Clean and wonderful.
We took the Blue Star Highway on our way back to Stevensville. Nice scenic drive.
We would highly recommend the wineries. We never knew how abundant they are.
We got our value out of the house and surrounding areas.
This is a great location for all your vacation desires. 150 feet of private beachfront. Sand based lake, so you can see the bottom up to about 9 feet. Great lake for Bass Fishing. Incredible space both indoor and out. Spend time swimming in the lake, Roast Marshmallows in the fire...
We stayed for a weekend in September to see if we would be interested in renting it next summer. We fell in love with the place as soon as we got out of the car, The view, the grounds, the nature, everything was what we were looking for in a vacation rental. There is plenty of room for a large group but not too big for just a couple. Comes complete with just about every amenity you could require. Kayak, canoe, paddle boats, games, movies, books, hiking and more.
We will definitely be back again next summer and for a longer stay to take advantage of all this place and surrounding area has to offer.
