Reviews for this vacation home rental in New Orleans, Louisiana

Loved this place!
September 21, 2015
Everyone in our group loved this house! The location is great especially if you're exploring all parts of New Orleans because it is pretty centrally located. The inside was beautiful and we loved all the sitting areas outside. Craig was easy to communicate with during our booking and stay. I'd definitely stay here again. Thank you for having us.!
spring break in New Orleans
April 4, 2015
Loved Craig, as he was able to answer all our questions. Michelle was awesome!!!! She lives next door, and caters. She made yummy breakfast for us (sausage/bacon/egg platter, with fresh fruit and homemade biscuits), and also did grocery shopping. She was there to help with anything we needed! We rented this 4 bedroom house in the Garden District for Spring Break. We actually had 10 people stay here, and it worked perfectly. The house was clean, and simply decorated. Nice big kitchen, with seating for everyone! Bonus to have a washer/dryer. Great location, as we were able to easily park 2 cars, and drove to the majority of sights. Nice walk to Garden district, Lafayette Cemetery, and St. Charles street. Will definitely come again!!!

The house is conveniently located 2 blocks from St Charles and the Trolley. The St Charles trolley directly takes you to Canal/ Bourbon corner. The house was clean, updated and equipped with all your needs. Roomy and comfortable ,7 of us stayed there for a convention. We were all very pleased. It was very easy to book and had absolutely no trouble in the process. Would definitely stay there again.

I booked this house for a girls' weekend in Nola. The whole experience was so amazing!! The house was GORGEOUS, clean, and in the perfect location. We walked to Magazine St for brunch and shopping, walked to the street car on St Charles and headed down to the French Quarter, and felt completely safe the whole time. I would recommend this house for anything from a girls' weekend to a family vacation. Excellent weekend!!
Fantastic Location and Great Stay!
October 6, 2014
This is a wonderful house that is big and quite pleasurable! We mostly went to the French Quarter from here and it is about a $12 cab ride to every where in the Quarter. It is very clean and modern. There were four of us but it can easily hold more, with the inclusion of the carriage house. The back patio is spacious and pretty private. Would recommend to any group wanting a god getaway!

Ron's 70th birthday
September 24, 2014
I rented the home for a surprise birthday party for my husband's birthday. Eight of our children came along. We had a wonderful time. This was an excellent location. Just 2 blks from the trolley. The house is beautifu, comfortable, and had lots of room for all of us. The backyard patio is very pretty and great for an outdoor BBQ. Craig and everyone associated with the house was so kind and helpful. Could not do enough to help us with anything we needed. I would highly recommend this location.
Birthday party for 11 women
March 18, 2014
We rented this place for 11 of us for 4 nites and had a great time! it was very convenient and Michele (next door) took great care of us. We used both the main house and the smaller 2 bedroom townhome directly behind the larger house. Thanks, Craig (owner) and Michele for making this so easy and fun!

Roof Top 835 Burgundy
March 13, 2014
The place we stayed at was clean and was not far from the middle of the French Quarters, close to everything but far enough that when you where ready to wind down you where far enough away to have peace and quite. Only thing that could be improved was it seem to have low water pressure at least at the roof top that we stayed at.
Wedding event in NOLA
January 13, 2014
My Daughter was married in NOLA on 1/4/14 and we stayed at Craig's 2 properties. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. We had a big gang and the house is spacious and comfortable. The off street parking was secure and each driveway can fit 2 vehicles. On street parking...not an issue plenty of space around the house as its on the corner of fourth st. If your driving the city this section of the Garden district is close to everything and your a block or 2 from St Charles and the Trolly line. DONT worry about the neighborhood, a working class area, well lit and the people are friendly...Typical of LA and NOLA in general. Craig thanks for making this rent easy for me, you helped us carry this destination wedding off with out a hitch.

Family Christmas in NOLA
January 1, 2014
Christmas week we rented Oulala house and our families from Houston and Boston joined us making the the total 9. The kitchen was so well stocked with the refrigerator containing breafast and an apple pie and croissants awaiting our hungry crew. A beautifully decorated house and Christmas tree made us all feel so "homey" and the well appointed kitchen lent itself to our cooking needs. Michelle was a great help with info on local eateries and transportation as well as always answering our text messages prior to the trip. It was a wonderful experience and our family feedback was like wise. A perfect home for a perfect vacation
Beautiful Spacious Home
November 25, 2013
We rented this home for a family vacation and couldn't be happier. The amenities & comfy beds are far better than staying in a hotel. The house was very CLEAN & modern with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It was perfect that we were walking distance to the trolley and the neighborhood felt safe. Craig was a wonderful host and provided lots of useful information. I look forward to staying at this property the next time I return to NOLA.
Beautiful Home, Easy to Work With, Great Experienc
September 25, 2013
The owner of the home, Craig, was extremely accomdating and very easy to work with. We were a large group, late 20's, down for a football game. The house was plenty big enough to accomodate everyone comfortably. Check-in, check-out was a breeze. Getting to Bourbon Street via the streetcar or cab were both cheap and easy. Will definitely look to come back here if the opportunity arises.
Great House-big and perfect party spot
May 29, 2013
We rented this 4 BR house for my daughters college graduation. I was perfect. Craig was wonderful to work with as we changed our dates a few times. We also had the party catered by Michelle (as recommended by Craig) and not only is she a wonderful southern cook, she is a terrific lady.
What a Fabulous Place!
May 8, 2013
This house was even better than we expected. We had a group of 6 go down for Jazz Fest and the house was perfect for down time and group meals, and also close to local attractions such as Jaquesmos and the Maple Leaf. Magazine Street was a short bus ride away with great shops and restaurants. We were all pretty impressed with how well we were able to get around using the bus rather than cabs - there's even a direct bus to city park and the fairgrounds. The neighbors were all friendly and Brandon was prompt in responding to all communications from start to finish. Hope everyone enjoys the house as much as we did!

great home ... great vacation
March 18, 2013
We were a group of 9 staying in this home. There was plenty of space for everyone. All 4 bedrooms were nicely furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The house is well equipped with everything we needed and was located in a quiet neighborhood which was a very short walking distance to the Street Car on St. Charles which took us right into the French Quarters and downtown. Magazine St. was only a 15 - 20 min. walk away. There is plenty to see and do within walking distance right from the house itself. Craig the owner was extremly helpful and answered all my questions before and during the trip. I felt like he was our own personal travel agent. Thank you Craig for all your help. I would definately stay here again when I visit New Orleans. Great home ... Fantastic city!!
Can I move in?
February 22, 2013
This house was more than I could have anticipated. We rented the whole house for my 30th birthday bash in NOLA. Craig (owner) was more than accommodating and I definitely appreciated how easy breezy he made everything. The house was immaculately clean (my sister was quoted saying "it doesn't even smell like a rental!"), well stocked, and had more than enough space. The larger unit had 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths (including a jacuzzi tub!) that were furnished as if you are staying in a 5 star hotel. The living space also had 2 new pull out couches (although we did not use them) and a gourmet kitchen. The smaller unit had 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths and a smaller kitchen. It also had 2 pull out couches. The backyard was a lovely patio where we hosted 25 people for a crawfish boil. Although I felt bad for the neighbors thinking that the laughter from the group might have disturbed the very peaceful neighborhood. Off-street parking and close access to St Charles left my guests wanting to stay ... which in fact 4 of them did! Craig was more than willing to accommodate their stay for the additional dates. We WILL be coming back to this unit and I already have 2 more of my friends looking to rent it for their future trips. Thanks Craig for creating the best atmosphere we could have asked for. You have made my friends and family fall in love with New Orleans the way my fiance and I have.
Happy New Year 2013! New Orleans, LA
February 10, 2013
Perfect location!! My husband and I and another couple spent a week here over New Years. The house would have easily accomodated 4 more adults. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and lots of extra sleeping/living space downstairs. If you are looking for a true New Orleans experience this is the place. We walked twice to the French Quarter (Street car line is very convenient but was under construction)--the walk was fine. We found it to be a very easy walk to Magazine Street, the Garden District, and the French Quarter. I would also recommend the New Orleans Cooking Experience-only a few blocks from the house--Boo was the best! All in all a fantastic get away--perfect for a girls weekend, 3 to 4 couples or a family. Just far enough away from the French Quarter to offer an opportunity to experience the best of all areas of this fantastic city.

Great Rental House
November 19, 2012
This was an ideal place to stay. We occupied all four bedrooms and each was quite comfortable. We were new to New Orleans, we felt very safe in this neigborhood., and found our neighbors friendly. Parking was a pleasure. There was a driveway available to us, but we found parking on the street convenient. We were a total of 8 people three couples and two singles. I slept on the couch. The only problem we had, and it did not affect our stay, was that one part of the couch was a reclining chair. It was in a reclined position when we arrived and we could not close it. I found Craig Johnson so nice to work with, I am sure this will be fixed quickly. The kitchen is well equipped and living area spacious. This was a great way to spend our time together as a family vs in a hotel. We look forward to returning.
Wonderful Home and host!
May 26, 2012
This was a great historical house. Very pretty, comfortable. And complete with all amenities. The owner, Tom, was a great bonus. Very knowledgeable about the home and the area, great personality, so helpful. Would definitely stay here if we get to return to New Orleans.
Lovely home for a large group
May 2, 2012
This is a very nice house which is well equipped for a large group. Each bedroom is very nicely furnished and very comfortable. Overall, it was far nicer than I expected for a rental. It is a two block walk to St. Charles Ave. and just a little farther to shoping on Magazine. Very walkable.
Wonderful place to stay!
April 25, 2012
This property exceed all of our expectations. Everyone in our group of 10 thought that the house was just perfect for our reunion. The living room was nice and large, accommodating us all very comfortably. The bedrooms were very well decorated and spacious. The kitchen, though a bit narrow for more than a couple of cooks, was decently outfitted with everything we needed for a few breakfasts and cookouts. The best though was the wonderful patio. We spent many mornings and evenings catching up back there. The location was very convenient to the St. Charles streetcar allowing us to easily travel downtown to check out the French Quarter. I highly recommend checking out the French Market District's Flea Market and Farmer's Market. We had the most delicious gator burger there. The owner of the property was also very nice and made the entire rental process very easy. He was responsive in his e-mails and very helpful over the phone. I would highly recommend this property.

April 13, 2012
The house is nicely appointed and accommodated our family of 8 adults very well; plenty of privacy while ample space for gathering together. Nice linens...all around. We were surprised to find two twin beds and a queen in one bedroom rather than two queens in the room even though it was a large room as all the pictures had indicated the two queens. The location was outstanding for our family vacation...as advertised. the owner was accommodating, bringing us fresh pastries on Easter. You will enjoy your visit!
Excellent Bachelorette Party Weekend House!
February 8, 2012
This house was absolutely amazing! We rented it for my bachelorette party weekend with 7 girls and there was tons of room for everyone to be comfortable. The 3 bathrooms made getting ready super easy. The neighborhood was great, people were friendly and we felt extremely safe. Very easy to get to the French Quarter and not a bad drive from the airport - about 20 mins. The bar was also nice to have so there was no need to find liquor stores. Everything was very clean and well put together. The art in the home was also a nice touch and the surround sound downstairs meant you didn't even need to bring ipod speakers. Will be back in NO for a wedding in July and definitely thinking about staying here again! Awesome experience!
January 12, 2012
We enjoyed our time in NO. The house and the apartment were very nice. The neighborhood is a little older but the people were very friendly. We would stay again if we returned to NO. ROLL TIDE.

Wonderful family getaway
January 12, 2012
This house was wonderful! Great location, 10 mn away from the French Quarter madness, but yet close when we wanted to get there and enjoy the night scene. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds extremely comfortable. Having two masters was a bonus, especially with the first floor one for those who have a hard time with stairs. Would definitely stay there again if we are back in the Big Easy!! The house had a lot of charm in a quiet neighborhood. Felt part of the city !
Even better than expected
October 5, 2011
This house is great! Amazing location, huge, comfortable beds, and looks even better than in the pictures. The owner is responsive and helpful, and all around the experience was outstanding. Will definitely try to stay here again next time I'm in Nola!
May 1, 2011
This place is fabulous! The house is spacious and nicely decorated. The things we appreciated most were: very quiet and safe in the evenings even though it was Mardi Gras, the location was close to the Uptown parade routes and close to key shopping spots. We also loved the amenities and the porches! Highly recommend this property.

A great family week in New Orleans
April 11, 2011
We were a party of eight, three couples and two small children. The four bedrooms and three baths worked perfectly for us, with the kids sharing a bath with their parents. One bedroom suite is downstairs, and that was helpful too -- the grandparents got a bit of relief from the rest of the crowd. The location of the house is a definite plus, with very easy access to the St. Charles Ave. streetcar and plenty of parking for multiple rental cars. It's borderline Garden District (northernmost edge), but still a good starting point for all Garden District walking tours and places you'd like to go (like the Commander's Palace). The closest supermarket is a couple of miles away, which was a minor inconvenience, but there's a Walgreens and a number of coffee shops, etc. nearby along St. Charles. And by the way, the flooding from Katrina didn't really make it here in any significant way. The first floor of the house is very open and great for a group of vacationers. We found the kitchen layout a bit awkward for multiple cooks, but learned to work with that pretty quickly. Everything we needed, from silverware to all appliances, was there and in good working order. We grilled outside several nights, and that was completely satisfactory too. There is also a small enclosed bar area and a laundry room, so we seemed to lack for nothing. I think all six adult would agree that we were very fortunate in this rental and would all recommend it without reservations.

Recently had our friend's Bachelor Party in New Orleans and stayed here. The house was great. Everything was very clean and new and exactly as advertised. The neighborhood was a little more sketchy than I had hoped, but we had no issues. It's only a few blocks from the train cars, and the cab service is prompt and reliable. Especially for a Bachelor Party or someone on a budget this is great. I might not bring my kids here, just because of the neighborhood. But too be honest, if we made it through the weekend incident free, anyone can. The owner of the house was great and accommodating. Overall I gave it four stars because we had everything we needed. Only mark off is the neighborhood.
March 19, 2011
The location is an easy walk to the River Walk/Convention Center. House clean, spacious with beautiful art.
Mardi Gras and Great Vacation Home
March 15, 2011
I recently stayed at this property with a group of friends. We used both homes over the course of 5 days. There were 7 of use and everyone was comfortable. The home looks and feels exactly as presented in the online pictures. The neighborhood is safe and neighbor are extremely friendly. If I ever visit New Orleans again I will surely consider this vacation home before any five star hotel.

This house has spacious bedrooms, and a very large living room and kitchen with all necessities. The front porch is perfect for sitting on and having morning coffee. Location is great for uptown events, yet not to far from French Quarter.
30th Birthday Weekend
March 6, 2011
We recently rented this house to celebrate a 30th Birthday, and it really was perfect for our group. The house is very spacious, and had more than enough room for our group of 9 to sleep and ‘hang out’. The location is also great, only two blocks from the St. Charles streetcar with easy access to uptown and the French quarter. The pictures do not really do this house justice! I would recommend this property to anyone.

The Perfect "Home Away From Home"
July 26, 2010
This house turned out to be the perfect home away from home for us while we were in New Orleans for a week. The house and furnishings were immaculate, the decor upscale-modern yet comfortable and liveable, and it appeared that the owners had gone to great lengths to insure that every conceivable ammenity was provided. Everything in the brochure was there and more. We sat several nights on both the upstairs and downstairs porches and just "people-watched" when we were "at home". The neighbors were friendly (as were everyone we met in NO), and access to and from the main travel routes was simple and fast. The streetcars were accessible only two blocks away and we walked there several times on our many journeys to the French Quarter and elsewhere when we didn't want to drive. Hats off to Mr. Craig Johnson for making the registration so easy (and safe), and providing such a wonderful place to stay. He is now officially a "cousin" of ours.

The home was very clean. Owner extremely responsive to our needs very helpful with the visit. We were close to the trolleys and transportation easy, occasionally required cab to transport to conference center but not costly. Recommend this home, it is very comfortable and accessible to downtown.

New York, NY
April 17, 2010
The property was immaculate upon our arrival, and excellent in terms of space and amenities. The location was good in that it is accessible to both uptown and French quarter locations. And, the owner makes the administration of renting a place very easy. I definitely recommend it.
April 12, 2010
This house is in the perfect location for a New Orleans visit - 2 blocks to St. Charles and the Trolley - yet quiet and restful. We were a party of 9, here for a week - this just worked out so well for us. I would recommend it for any gathering. The fifth bed is an EZ Fold air bed - don't think twice - it was really comfortable!! We would come again - should the opportunity present itself.

Wonderful Vacation House for a Big Group
January 3, 2010
We had a gang of 10 people, including four teenagers. The space was perfect for big gatherings in the spacious living room. All the beds were very comfortable, with nice linens. In fact, the house was very nicely furnished. The location was good, near the edge of the Garden District. Plenty of parking, on street and off-street. Most of all, the landlord was always accessible and helpful when necessary. The only drawback was that the kitchen, though spacious, was not designed for serious cooks. But we did alot of serious cooking anyway and had ourselves a great time!
Birthday Week in NOLA

This is the best rental property we've have from Paris, France to Santa Fe, New Mexico. 2 blocks to the street car and 10 minutes to the French Quarter or 20 minutes to Carrolton. Walk to the best of the Garden District - Zara's Market and Coquette. Six of us stayed a week form my brother's and wife's birthdays. Oh, yes, and it was Halloween. What a wonderful escape within NOLA. Thanks Craig.

TRULY FABULOUS ACCOMODATIONS!!!
July 22, 2009
This was our first vacation to New Orleans and we were thrilled when we arrived at this beautiful house. It is spacious and has all of the amenities of home. We loved the location since it was a short walk to St. Charles for the trolley and 7-8 minutes from Bourbon Street, Harrah's Casino, the Superdome, and the convention center. It was awesome and we have shared photos with family and friends and will always recommend it over a hotel for the true Nawlins experience!
Fabulous House, great for groups
July 21, 2009
The house is FABULOUS! Beautifully furnished and has everything you need. Walking distance to St. Charles(2 blocks) and easy access to the French Quarters. It was nice to participate in the New Orleans activities and then retreat to a beautiful home away from it all. The spacious home was great for gatherings and a pleasant joy to sit back and enjoy time with friends that came in from other locations. We had a BLAST! We will defintely go back to visit. Lastly, a few recommendations for food - Copelands Bistro and the Trolley stop are within walking distance. Shrimp Po-Boys were overflowing with shrimp and tasty at Cooter Brown.

We rented the back house and this house for the first weekend of Jazz Fest. Couldn't be happier with the accommodations. Only 2 blocks from St. Charles with easy access to uptown and french quarter. Really nice shared patio in the back with Grill, outdoor seating, etc. Beds were comfy and house was just overall nice. The house had very nice finishes with plenty of room to sleep and entertain. Will be back for sure.

This house is GREAT! Spacious well stocked kitchen, beds that make you feel like you are staying at a Westin, better TV's and sound system than I have at home! Very secure, friendly neighbors, two enviable parking spots and close to everything. We walked to Commanders Palace for 25 cent martini lunch! Highly recommend, hope to return.
Great holiday family gathering

Three generations came together for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. We are a pretty active, diverse bunch and the layout and location of this house perfectly met our needs. Little kids had room to run and adults had peace and quiet for napping. So much within walking distance too!

The pictures really do not give you the entire comfort and “feel” of this house. My family and I were in town for our daughter’s wedding. We had several children in our group. We wanted a place where we could cook our meals, relax and enjoy each other as well as the sights of New Orleans. This house was ideal, with all of the comforts of home. The property owner pays significant attention to detail and we found the price to be great too!! Do not hesitate to give him a call!

Wonderful Crescent City Vacation Home
May 23, 2008
My extended family came to New Orleans for my graduation ceremony at Tulane University. The house was a fabulous gathering place for our large group (adults and kids), much nicer than a hotel. The location is great for exploring (whether you're headed out to Uptown, the French Quarter, or the West Bank), and it has all the amenities, including very comfortable beds and extras like car seats for children. The neighborhood is quiet, and we had no security issues. The next-door neighbor runs a catering service, and helped us organize a graduation party. All in all, it was perfect.
great house, great service

Stayed there during Jazz Fest with three other couples. Very modern, comfortable house with great furnishings, especially beds. Craig, the owner, is wonderful. Great stocked booze closet with drinks at market prices. Some wine free! Nice porches. Neighborhood doesn't look great, but people were friendly there. Close the to Charles Street action and beauty.
Beautiful home and great location for N.O.
March 25, 2008
Fantastic house and great location for families/large groups. Short walk to trolley, Garden Dist and Magazine St. Great restaurants, shopping and grocery all nearby. Plenty of room for our large two families. The kitchen was very accomodating if you like to cook for your group. Friendly neighborhood. Enjoyed St Joseph's Night with the Wild Indians that occured Holy Week in the neighborhood. A side of N.O. most have not experienced before and we met a lot of great people. I highly recommend staying here! Nice change from staying in the French Quarter.
Great for groups

This vacation home was PERFECT. We visited New Orleans for the bowl game and had a wonderful time. The location of this home was safe, quiet and convenient. Modern furnishings, nice layout, and wireless internet service. Truly felt like a home away from home. We are already thinking about when we can come back.
Must see to believe
December 10, 2007
This is definitely the best vacation rental home I've ever stayed in. I've stayed in rental homes in Vail, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Steamboat Springs, and Orlando and this one is at the top. The home is brand new and so is everything in it. The pictures online are nice but don't really show how nice the place is. I also liked the location...two blocks from St. Charles so everything is easily accessable from the location of the home. From there you can choose to hit the tourist spots (French Quarter, Canal St.) or you can get the "real" New Orleans experience by checking out any of the clubs, shops and restaurants within 2-3 miles of the place.
