Friends Weekend

September 20, 2010

We are a group of 14 that have been getting together for a long weekend for quite a number of years now. We really enjoyed the spaciousness of this house along with the amount of rooms & bathrooms. The views are fantastic; also the privacy the property allows was a big factor. Everything was wonderful.

The owners, who live a couple of states away, have done nothing in upkeep. For the price, you expect luxury and instead we had TVs, Xboxes, grills, and "gourmet kitchen" items broken, dirty and missing. There was construction debris at a seemingly nice sandy area where we probably could have played volleyball or something, but not with all that unsightly junk. The cleaning staff told us to be careful with the little kids in the swing area as there were a lot of ticks. A little weed whacking and some insect treatment probably would have helped... The worst was bad construction so that the room next to the theater was soaked (standing water) and smelled damp. We couldn't have our kids stay on that side (we had rented the entire house), but the other side wasn't much better as I cleaned up black mold on the ceiling hoping for the best. My daughter came away with a very musty pillow home which I washed immediately. Maybe when the owners fix these faults they can charge their premium
