I am late writing this as came home to many problems. Anyone going to Costa Rica and wanting to stay somewhere totally relaxing, this is the place. Once you purchase food you never have to leave the place and you will still be in Paradise everyday. the pool is awesome, we are 3 ladies in our late 60's and two didn't know how to swim, but now they do. This home comes complete with anything and everything a person needs or wants. And Jerry is the most gracious host. Jannell will always be there quickly for any problem. If you have this place you will never want to leave it is way over the top of what you see. PURA VIDA all the way
Wonderful Wet Season!
October 25, 2010
This past August, my fiance, son, and I spent nearly two weeks here in Ojochal at La Casa De Tropicale. You will not be disappointed with this gem of property in Costa Rica, it is nothing but sheer relaxation and plenty of room for 3 to 4 people. Located on top of high hill/mountainside the view is magnificent and these pictures do it no justice! The property was well kept, and there is plenty of wildlife lurking to keep you at home nearly every day. Fully equipped for an avid cook, we enjoyed dining like the locals and grilling out nearly every night. I can't express how beautiful this place is, you will not be disappointed! Also there are fabulous beaches in the surrounding areas that will astound you, Costa Rica certainly captivated me, and I am glad we chose to rent this home rather than stay at a resort. We stayed in the wet season where everything was in full bloom...it was just AMAZING! Have no fear or doubt with renting this home, it is clean, well kept, and peaceful....everything that you could want out of a tropical vacation such as this!

Fifteen Days in Paradise
August 28, 2010
This June my wife and I stayed for another two weeks in this home and we were delighted. The owner has made some nice improvements that make the stay even more enjoyable. The place is surrounded by the forest and we had daily visits by many different spices of beautiful birds, butterflies and animals, especially capuchin and howler monkeys. The tranquility and serenity, as well as all of the home’s comforts made our stay a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. We visited daily the town of Ojochal for fresh local groceries and prepared delicious food in the home’s fully equipped kitchen. Took a dip in the private swimming pool and enjoyed showers “al fresco”. The entire experience is what I would call a perfect vacation. Thank you. Y and P.

Great house! Jenell the caretaker was amazing. We spent nearly three weeks at Casa de la Tropicale great views; warm pool; beautiful views; air conditioning! Wonderful place to bring kids. The roads are not for the skittish. There is no room service or pizza delivery. However if you want to get a taste of what living in Costa Rica is really like this is the place for you! Three weeks was not enough and we will be back next year. So many wonderful people; beaches; waterfalls; flora; fauna; restaurants; a little something for everyone. You can be as active as you want to be or not! I'm hooked!!

This house is everything and more than what it says it is. Jenell the property manager is an angel and full of information. She was a blessing especially since this was my first trip to Costa Rica and I was alone. I always felt safe and the grounds are beautiful. Jerry is thoughtful and extremely helpful in so many ways with recommendations and suggestions. Ojochal is in a perfect location for accessability to so many locations ie Quepos/Manuel Antonio, Uvita, San Isidro and Dominical to name a few. You will definately feel comfortable and at home. Only thing missing were some chaise lounges by the pool.

Our stay was enjoyable. The house and property were great.
There were a few hiccups, but I think you knew about both. It really didn't bother us or our feelings about the place. The only recommendation we would suggest for future visitors is, a heads up about the roads to the house. We would definitely get an all wheel/ four wheel drive vehicle for this time of year ( November 2010 rainy/low season) and for this location. Maybe people just presume this but we didn't know and it was a challenge as far as the driving conditions. Other than that we enjoyed the place. It was an awsome location and we would definitely stay there again.
Cheers and we hope you have had a nice holiday season.

We have just moved to Ojochal for good and we stayed La Casa De Tropicale as we began our search for our own piece of paradise. I'm afraid this place raised the bar for us. While there may be no ocean views this property is bounded on two sides by dense jungle and a rippling stream. On the other two sides are expansive views of the valley and surrounding mountains of Ojochal. Unbelievable views and wildlife shows. Toucans, parrots, finches, butterflies, hummingbirds by the thousands. Then there's the regular parade of white face and howler monkeys that make their way through the trees. Very private and very peaceful. Highly recommend

My wife and I stayed for two weeks in this home and had a wonderful experience. We loved the privacy and the nature surrounding the place. Every day we were visited by a variety of birds, butterflies, and monkeys! It is amazing how nature can provide such entertainment! The forested mountain views from the back yard are beautiful and it is so much fun to swim in the pool under the rain. We will stay in this place again and we highly recommend it. Pura vida! 7/4/09 We spent three months at casa Tropical (Glogowski house) and had a wonderful time. The mountain views are beautiful, especially while sipping a morning cup of coffee. Toucans, Aricaris, Parrots and many other birds serenade every morning and evening. The Howlers and White Faced Monkeys visit often as well as the three toed sloth. The house is exactly as portrayed with ample cooking amenities and a roomy floor plan. The local villages have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Pura Vida Ron & Edith , WA

We stayed at la Casa de Tropicale for 2 weeks in August and really enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery and listening to the sounds of the toucans and the howler monkeys. The 3 toed sloth was in sight in a nearby tree every morning. Overall, an enjoyable stay in a cozy environment. We would recommend la Casa de Tropicale to friends and family.

Magnificent! Thank you Jerry for an unforgettable experience! This house was very comfortable, very well equipped, and set beautifully on a little hilltop with gorgeous views. While in Costa Rica we toured many different parts of the country, and this area, the south Pacific, was definitely my favorite! There is lush tropical vegetation, tropical wildlife, a beautiful waterfall, and the most amazing beaches very close by. Also some of the best food in all of Costa Rica can be had in and around Ojochal. Our hosts Leo and Michelle were extremely helpful and made our stay even that much better! I highly recommend this property!

We had such a wonderful time at your house Jan. and Feb. 2010. Your kitchen is a dream. We had so many guests and we never seemed to bump into each other. It is a great place for a crowd and I think all of our group that stayed there would return. The Talipia farm and the waterfall was one of the favorite stops. It's also great to have Uvita growing so shopping was easy. Love the gazebo and of course the pool. We got some great pictures of the white face and howler monkeys that visited us often and the toucans were there a couple times a day. Wonderful place to vacation. Jim and Micki

This place is absolutely amazing. The house is extremely comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped, and anything we could ever need was there for our use. The house was very smart designed; we had 360° view of the mountains. In the mornings there were some white face monkeys hanging from the trees near the pool and in the afternoon we could see at least 5 toucans singing in the back of the house. The pool is very nice. The shower outside was very helpful to keep the pool clean while we stayed there. The porch was our favorite place to be; even though the area's weather is very hot, the house always kept a nice breeze; there are fans all around the house, which helped to keep the house with a nice temperature. I spent a week with my 3 and 4 year old kids and I had no problems at all, the house is children's safe. We had to drive to go to the beach but the view is so beautiful that every ride to go out was a very nice trip, never tedious. I have a small Chevrolet Corsa, regular auto and I was able to go up and down with no trouble, the street is a rocky street but very easy to drive in. The entire place was amazing! I spent a week in a 5 star villa in Guanacaste last July and I can tell this house doesn't have anything missing to be consider a 5 star place for vacations.I will always have beautiful memories of this house since near the pool my partner decided to propose under a beautiful full moon the last night of our stay.I recommend this house to anybody that wants to visit the area of Southern Coast, Costa Rica.

On March 2010 , we went to Casa Tropical for the whole month . If you love nature this is the place , if you love to relax , this is the place . Every where you look , you will see mountains, jungles, and very far some houses hidden in forest but very far from you.... In the morning you'll wake up with songs of parrots , toucans , and other birds and monkees ( whiteface and howler) . And if you are a fan of nature just go further under rocks, in the jungles just besides the houses ... Our 2 sons enjoyed the place .. one is a photographer specialising in insects and other living things so let me tell you he was more than satisfied.. And while you're there if you need any informations Leo and Michelle from Soluna are very friendly..,. and if you need transportation from and to the airport in San Jose Gilberto ( ask Leo and Michelle) is more than a driver he is a good guide . So thank you very much Jerry to let us used your Casa and feel like home.... Sure we,ll go again Marie-Claire & Jean-Claude & JF and MA from province Québec ,,

This was our second stay at La Casa De Tropicale, for two weeks in September 2010. The house is well situated and easily accessible during the rainy season (i.e. no rivers to cross). We enjoyed breakfast every morning outside in the rancho in the company of the local toucans, admiring the great view across the valley. The green space around the home is frequently visited by families of monkeys, which are great fun to watch. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing your meals and the beds are comfortable. When you need a little technology fix there's good quality satellite TV, reliable internet and a selection of movies to keep you entertained. We would recommend La Casa De Tropicale to family and friends. David David was unable to submit his comment direct because of already posting a review from last stay.
