The perfect retreat

If one was wanting to get away from the human race and enjoy the way life should be, then this is the place to come. Highly recommend it.

very helpful, family run, only issue is that to me the lake is not swimmable. rocks make it way to treacherous to enjoy the water. great view though!
We loved it! but beware steep approach.

The only reason we give 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the steep approach to the property. The driveway was very intimidating to me, though my husband had no problem with it. The stairway is also steep; hauling belongings and groceries always meant a definite aerobic workout. Elderly folks might not be able to negotiate the steps very easily; they are well-built enough but quite steep. Dealing with the owners of this property was pleasant and easy. The cabin itself was cute, cozy, and perfect for a vacation getaway. Even with many cabins all around the lake, it seemed very private. We were happy with the kitchen set-up - pretty much everything you would want was available. During summer months when it gets a bit stuffy you might want to bring a fan with you just to circulate the air, though with a breeze off the lake and the lovely big windows open it stays quite nice. The lake was just beautiful and the complimentary use of kayaks was a feature we enjoyed each day. The owners are very clear that you have to avoid diving into the lake as it is very rocky. This also makes it a challenge getting into and out of the kayaks - but worth the effort. Another feature we enjoyed was NO TV. We had so much fun just being together as a family without the intrusion of television; nobody missed it at all, whereas if there had been a TV there someone would surely have needed to check in with ESPN or something.

Gray party Loon Cabin rental
August 15, 2011
We were very impressed with the cabin overall. I've stayed at many resorts and cabins across Ontario, Michigan, and Nova Scotia. This rated very high in amenities provided. For instance, I was surprised to find an actual, high quality cutlery set in the kitchen; and my daughter found a curling iron thing in the bath. Most unusual. The view was great - but partially obscured by trees. Towels were thoughtfully provided; but were stored in the chest of drawers, leaving no place to store our clean clothes. There were four kayaks available; but, weren't very useful to me, as I'm primarily a fisherman. I would've been happy to place whatever deposit the owner deemed appropriate in addition to a rental fee. I inquired about a boat before we left home on the Net; but got no response. I take fishing tackle on vacation like others take golf clubs. It's not the primary focus; but still something I very much enjoy. That all being said, I had a great time at the little cabin in the woods, and would like to return. Access to a fishing boat would greatly add to my overall experience though.

We had a fabulous time right from the moment we stepped out of the car to hear the loons calling. A peaceful setting and a cabin perfect for 4. Location was close enough to retail therapy when needed. We would definitely return.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It is clean, comfortable, in a great spot on the lake and not too far from Acadia National Park.
