Description of the Pinehurst vacation condo rental
We invite you to our renovated first floor condo located on the 3rd fairway of Pinehurst course #5. We are walking distance to both the Pinehurst Country Club Clubhouse, and immediately across the street from the Harness Track.

With two bedrooms and two full baths, this condo provides you with a wonderful retreat opportunity - for golfers and area visitors alike.

Equipped with a flat panel television, we think you will love the space & convenience that our condo provides. New hardwood floors in the living room, upgraded carpets in the bedrooms and an airy and bright feel will make this your home away from home for a short visit or an extended stay.

Sitting on the rear deck on a screened-in porch off the living room couldn't be more when relaxing after a day of touring, playing golf or horseback riding! Right across the street from the condo is the Harness Track, as one visitor said: "such a cool place to see up close & personal the trainers working & getting the standard-bred horses to ready to race for the season."

We fell in love with this golfer's heaven in 1999 when we first visited the Pinehurst Club and the Carolina Hotel. The Spa at the Pinehurst Country Club is also a wonderful place to relax and pamper yourself...on any occasion.

There is SO much to do in the area! Consider discovering the Potters of Seagrove...home to over 120+ potters, and visit them in their workshops and studios. A great day of fun, with gifts for your friends and family to enjoy for years to come.

Other fun places include downtown Pinehurst and Southern Pines, with great shopping, restaurants and touring options. Visit the gardens at Sandhills Community College. With a beautiful and welcoming layout you'll leave with many landscaping ideas. It is also a great learning adventure and experience for kids. For history buffs, stop by the Tufts Archives to learn about the history of Pinehurst.

Our membership at the Pinehurst Members Club enables us to offer our guests a limited number of daily guest passes (additional daily rate) allowing you access Lake Pinehurst beach for swimming. You can also book tee-times at six Pinehurst courses (including Course #2) at unaccompanied guest rates. Additionally, many of the amenities of the Pinehurst Resort are available to the general public. These include a world class health and fitness spa & all hotel restaurants (we recommend that you enjoy a cocktail at the Veranda Bar & watch golfers play the 18th green of Course No. 2 or sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch of the Carolina Hotel...enjoying a Mint Julep or your favorite drink)

Significantly, there are over 35 other courses in the immediate area for your golfing enjoyment. Horse lovers enjoy the Harness Track immediately across the street from our condo. You should make a point to have breakfast - at least once - at the Harness Track Restaurant...a great experience, and a terrific value.
Area Information
The little village and surrounding town of Pinehurst, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, landscape architect and designer of New York's Central Park among many other projects, is wonderful to walk. Its shops & restaurants are delightful and sandy paths charming. Of course, we have our favorites which are included in our "renter's album" located in the property.

Other nearby towns of Southern Pines and Aberdeen offer great shopping, entertainment and a kicked back venue for strolling, window shopping or dining.

Did you know that the town of Seagrove, just 35 miles from Pinehurst, is home to over 100 multi-generational families of potters? This is a fabulous place to visit if you enjoy shopping for handcrafted gifts.

So many more places of interest, from hiking to arts and entertainment, are available as well. Give us a call and get excited! We can provide you with additional links to area web sites for other LOCAL ATTRACTIONS and the CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

Fun in Pinehurst

April 13, 2015

This was our second year in Pinehurst at St. Andrews & we are planning another winter there in 2016. The location is convenient to everything we need & there is much to do in the area. We enjoyed breakfast at the Racetrack Restaurant. Great home cooking. There are many wonderful & varied restaurants in the area. We enjoyed watching the horses train at the race track across the street. The condo is nicely furnished with very comfortable beds. It is clean & well maintained. Jane is a delight to work with & makes renting an enjoyable experience.

Nice Property

August 8, 2012

The property was well-maintained and convenient for golfing and other things. It is small but perfect for the 3 of us. I would recommend a TV in the room with the twin beds because we all wanted to sleep in the room with the TV.

Ideal Location

July 18, 2012

We stayed here for a month from Mid June to Mid July in 2012 along with our 11 year-old grand-son. It just so happened that the weather was exceptionally hot but we still enjoyed swimming and golfing at the local courses. The location is quiet but still within easy driving distance to local eateries, etc. The Racetrack across the road had many activities and we enjoyed the 4th of July Fire Works display right from our front steps. Recommend this condo to anyone visiting the Pinehurst area. John and Ruthan

Being Home

July 28, 2011

During my 45 day stay at the condo in Pinehurst I felt always that I was returning "home" after a day of work at Ft. Bragg. The condo was nicely furnished and clean with everything I needed. Although not a golfer, I certanily loved being nestled in the pine trees and beside one of the many courses. Any and everything I needed was nearby including "the pottery capital of the world" just up the road at Seagrove and the many open markets with produce. Working with Jane on the details was a joy. I would recommend this relaxing and lovely place to anyone.

R&R at Pinehurst

May 12, 2010

Our stay at 104 Andrews Condos was a first rate experience. The condo was spotless, nicely furnished and well equipped, making for a pleasurable stay. We (four ladies in our 70s) who love the game of golf had never been to Pinehurst and when I found this particular condo for rent, grabbed it and we were delighted with our choice. It is located on the third hole of Pinehurst 5, and it was fun to watch the passing parade of golfers. There was a harness track across the street from the condo; however, the racing season was over at the time we were there and but we could watch the horses being exercised. And we were only a five-minute drive to the Pinehurst business district, a lovely New England type of town, with many good restaurants. We were also within walking distance of the Pinehurst Club House with much memorabilia and a lovely gift shop. All in all we had a wonderful time and could not have been happier with our accommodations. We highly recommend it.

More than expected!!!

August 21, 2009

It was so comfortable, clean, private and relaxing that we returned the following year! Had we not moved south ourselves we would have signed up again. We were a family foursome and really enjoyed the many golf courses, along with the restaurants and atmosphere of the quaint village. This picturesque spot comes highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and enjoy! Dot, John, Herb & Joan (formerly from New Jersey)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I get to your condo?
A: #104 St. Andrews is located at #10 Pine Tree Road, which is nearly opposite the entrance to the Harness Track - off of Route 5, which is also known as Beulah Hill Road. Coming from the North, you can exit onto Route 5 and head So., go under the railroad track, and a short distance and one light later, arrive at Pine Tree Road on your right hand side. Coming from the South, you will head North on Route 5, go through a light at Lake Hills Rd. and Monticello Drive, and the entrance to Pine Tree Road will be on your left. Once entering Pine Tree Road, make an immediate left hand turn into the parking lot for the St. Andrews Condominiums. We are in the 2nd building on your right hand side, and are the last unit on left of that building - on the ground floor.
Q: Do you have a washer and dryer?
A: Yes, but not in the condo. Our St. Andrews laundry facilities are in a separate building, less than 100 feet from our front door. We try to maintain laundry detergent and fabric softener drying cloths, but sometimes those are depleted before we get a chance to replenish them. Grocery stores are nearby if you need to pick up more laundry supplies.
Q: Can I use the beach at Lake Pinehurst?
A: Yes, this is an amenity available to our guest by prior arrangement. We do need at least 48 hours notice to secure guest passes for you, which will cost $8.00 per individual per day. We request separate payment for these passes at the end of your stay, or the amount(s) used will be deducted from your security deposit.
Q: Can we use the Pinehurst pools during our stay?
A: In the summer of 2015 the Pinehurst Resort opened up a new pool complex at the resort only for PCC members and their accompanied guests. As much as we'd like to accommodate you, PCC policy now does not allow us to do so and the pool that used to be closest to St. Andrews Condos is now permanently closed.

Sometimes you can also catch a horse event at the Harness Track just opposite the condo, across Route 5.
Q: How about dining recommendations?
A: There are SO many to choose from...and it's best to start asking around when you're in town as the locals always have some new recommendations. Dugans Pub is a great place to hang out for drinks and a hearty dinner after a round of golf or to end the day with friends and family. A fun place...and you might just catch a few famous golfers reliving their round! The Ironwood Cafe has a good atmosphere, food and awesome gas flame that illuminates outdoor grounds at night. You can't go wrong with Chef Warrens Bistro in Southern Pines, with an excellent and eclectic menu, bills itself as "a traditional French inspired neighborhood restaurant." The Wine Cellar and Tasting Room in Southern Pines is a great place for a fun evening of sampling. Elliott's on Linden is a special place for a special evening. And don't forget the Pinehurst Resort's main dining room or just cocktails on the porch in one of their famous rocking chairs. You'll run out of days before you run out of great dining choices!

Q: Is there a good alternative for swimming and exercise facilities?
A: Nearby to the condo (just North on Route 5, then East on Route 211) you'll find the First Health Center for Health and Fitness which is a very extensive and modern facility that is open to the community. You can purchase a multi-day guest pass for the duration of your stay and use it on demand.
Q: When in Pinehurst, how can I learn more about what's going on?
A: Stop by the Convention and Visitors Bureau on Route 15/501 to pick up the latest on local events, places to go and things to do. See "homeofgolf."
Q: Is there much to do nearby?
A: Yes, absolutely. Please spend some time in downtown Pinehurst, Southern Pines and Aberdeen just to name a few. Seagrove, which is about 30 minutes away, is home to over 100 potters, many of whom are from multi-generational families of potters, who open their workshops and studios for tours. We encourage a visit to meet many of the artists/potters in their home studies. It is a great outing for an entire day if you like.
Q: What about nature and outdoor things to do?
A: Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst is home to a 32-acre sanctuary maintained by students, faculty and staff in the landscape gardening department. See: "sandhillshorticulturalgardens." Weymouth Woods Nature Preserve is on the outskirts of Southern Pines, enjoy this collection of walking and equestrian trails totaling 900 acres. Explore 50,000 acres, an ecological jewel of woodlands, lakes and mountains. Just an hour away from Pinehurst! While these are just a few, don't forget about world-class golfing experiences at Pinehurst, which is not to be missed an 35 other courses nearby for your golfing pleasure.
Q: Are their any music venues we should know about?
A: Check out The Rooster's Wife for a good time and some very talented artists. If you love music this is a relaxed place to enjoy some family style meal and enjoy year-round events featuring a wide range of music - located in nearby Aberdeen. The Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities is a sprawling estate in Southern Pines, once the home of novelist James Boyd, author of "Drums," considered one the the best accounts of the American Revolution. Here you can enjoy their Chamber Music Series + much more! Check out First Friday's in downtown Southern Pines during the summer months for for people of all ages in the Southern Pines area. “First Friday” is a community event, and is provided free through sponsorship and volunteer efforts. And it's family-friendly. Participants have access to food, beverages, live music and other forms of entertainment, which enhance the enjoyment of each occasion. And did you know that Pinehurst is home to The Carolina Philharmonic? With seven scheduled and often sold-out performances during the year, do consider booking your tickets very early. The Carolina Philharmonic also currently serves 4,000 children annually through their interactive orchestral experience programs, including Link Up, in partnership with Carnegie Hall, and our Junior Orchestra program. Each child we serve costs $50 on average JUST in case you'd like to help out with a donation...
Q: Are there any art shows or special events in the area?
A: The Artist League of the Sandhills has regular shows and receptions. Check their calendar at: "artistsleague." You will also find local galleries and also an occasional special event at the Pinehurst Resort as well as "First Fridays" in Southern Pines. Check with the CVB and area websites to find out the latest happenings! And, of course, you can hop up to Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham or run over to Charlotte all of which offer so many interesting things to do and see as well.
