Pets allowed: No
Ocean front row cottage (152 Long Beach) has a 270-degree ocean front view and is the last house facing east on the boardwalk of beautiful & sandy Long Beach. Location allows full views of the twin lighthouses of Rockport and Cape Hedge Beach to the east, all of Long Beach and Bass Rocks to the west, a large salt marsh to the north, and open ocean to the south. Proximity to the tidal creek, marsh, and the rocky point of Cape Hedge provides numerous safe activities for kids.
Two-story cottage was completely rebuilt in 2009 from the ground up. Can comfortably sleep 8 people in four bedrooms (one on the first floor and three on second floor) with one-king bed, one queen bed, and four twin beds, with one queen pull-out couch available in the family room for 2 more. Cottage contains 2 full baths (one on each floor), front screened-in sunroom, gas heat, three bay windows overlooking the ocean, skylights, large vaulted-ceiling family room, ceiling fans in bedrooms, dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV with cable, WiFi, gas range, microwave, a gas outdoor grill, and outdoor shower. Large decks are attached on the front and back with furniture for breath-taking scenic views of the entire area. Ample parking is available in back with room for your boat or kayak, which can be launched from the creek behind.
The cottage is a 1-hour drive from Boston and a 3-mile drive from the train stations at either Gloucester or Rockport.
Both are an hour's pleasant drive north of Boston, so you can enjoy a romantic getaway, exquisite dining and a unique shopping experience—all in a single day.
The Rockport and Gloucester Chamber of Commerces invite you to use their online travel guides to find the museums, festivals schedules, and other activities that will give you a break from the bustle of city life. Come visit these historic seaside harbors just 40 miles north of Boston.
Most visitors will like to spend a visit to "Bearskin Neck" at the shops, art galleries, and restaurants just off dock square in the Rockport downtown area. Gloucester in contrast, with its deep maritime history, offers numerous ocean activities from deep-sea fishing and whale watching to dinner and sunset sailing cruises

Reviews for this vacation cottage rental in Rockport, Massachusetts
Cape Ann vacation

We rented this house for a family vacation and it was everything we wanted and more. It is a new house with a New England cottage feel. It is right on the ocean with awesome views and a big sandy beach to enjoy. It is conveniently located between Rockport and Gloucester both of which have very good restaurants. It is very convenient to catch the train to Boston from either of these towns. Overall a wonderful experience.

We stayed at Long Beach house once a few years ago. We enjoyed it then but the screens had many little holes so insects got inside. Now the screens are nicely mended so we can enjoy evening dinners on the porch. There is enough room for all of us, including the downstairs sofa for those who need to re-locate during the night! We especially enjoy the backyard for the children when we get back from the beach. This year we held a birthday party out there, complete with piñata. Inside we appreciate the lay-out where children can play games in the dining room while adults chat on the porch and baseball fans can be inside watching t.v. The stove works well for our cooking. The kitchen has everything we need EXCEPT for a very rusty can-opener that desperately needs replacing. Our only other criticism is we wished for more than one recycling bin. Three or four would be better for our crowd of 10. Thanks, though, for an excellent week in a comfortable home.
We are happy that you enjoyed your stay. We agree the location of the cottage right on the famous long sandy seashore of Long Beach along with the the ocean front rocks, popple beach, creek, and back salt marsh surrounding the other sides, makes for a great experience for all ages, especially kids. We will work on the can opener situation :)
