Description of the Saco vacation cottage rental
Cozy Maine cottage with ocean views. Just a short walk to private, sandy beach .. maybe 100 yards. Let the waves lull you to sleep!
Large, grassy back yard .. deemed the best in the neighborhood .. with BBQ, picnic table, lounge chairs. Dining porch has ocean views. Listen to the surf whike eating dinner or from your bedroom!
Ahhhhh ...
Quiet neighborhood .. off-the beaten path but close to everything .. shopping, amusements, night life, culture.
You can walk the beach for miles, bike for more miles on the Eastern Trail or along the ocean, kayak in the ocean or on the river.
Cottage is small but charming. Two bedrooms .. one with a double bed on the ocean side and a second with trundle bed .. twin with a second twin that slides out. Second bedroom is very small .. perfect for a child. Queen sleep sofa in the living room for guests.
Also has a nice front porch for relaxing and reading.
Wood floors, ceiling fan in living room, cable TV, WiFi. Windows everywhere.
Nicely furnished, well-stocked with pots and pans, comfortable!
Also willing to "swap" a week for western ski resort or other interesting destination.
No pets.

NOTE: I also have a beautiful ski home in the western mountains and a charming house on the southwest Florida coast.. all listed on this site! And I am interested in "swaps" to western ski resorts, the tropics, Hawaii and European destinations.

Charming, Cozy, and Relaxing

November 28, 2013

We had a wonderful week. The cutest little cottage ever! It was just my husband and me, ( and my dog) so we had plenty of room. We had a typical autumn range of weather, cold and rainy, 90's with sun and just perfect. We had everything we needed, including the beach! We'd love to go again next year!

Owner's reply:

And I hope you can come back.
The cottage IS charming. I love staying there myself.

Perfect Week on the Coast of Maine

October 3, 2013

We had a great fall week in Maine, with this cute cottage as our home base. The location could not be better...within a 30 minute drive to beaches, cliffs, amusement park, shopping, Portland, quaint towns, lighthouses, almost anything you would want. Boston is an easy two-hour drive and we flew in and out of Logan Airport. The cottage is cozy, clean, comfortable and darling. We loved walking to the beach (it was like our own private beach) and jetty and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. The cottage is exactly as described (the shower is pretty tight) and there are no surprises. We cooked nearly every meal there, so we checked out all of the local seafood markets, shops, wineries and craft beer pubs. If you have never been, Maine is a perfect location for a fall trip and this cottage can be your little home away from home! Nancy is very easy to work with and so accommodating. Pack your beach shoes and sweatshirt and take a fall trip to Maine!

Owner's reply:

Thank you Kathy for taking the time to share your experiences. I'm thrilled you love the cottage .. it's special to me! And thanks for being the perfect guests .. and leaving the cottage clean and tidy!

Great Value

July 29, 2013

Well located, cozy, warm, no frills cottage, well equipped, TV and wireless internet, perfect for a couple or a small family (1 or 2 kids). It sleeps 5 people easily. The cottage has a beautiful back yard with barbecue and a lot of birds. The wonderful, almost secluded, beach (not crowded) is a 2 minutes’ walk away. Very quiet, peaceful and tranquil, you will be able to recharge your batteries very fast. As a bonus (if you need one) the landlady is very nice and accommodating to all you needs. In a nut shell it’s a very good value. We will definitely return.

Owner's reply:

Thanks Mario!
Glad to hear you'll be coming back. It IS a special place!!

great vacation

July 24, 2012

This cottage was nice and clean and very sweet. A little small but for a family of four it was fine. We wish it had a tub for our youngest child but we managed fine with the shower. The yard was great and the beach was absolutely perfect. The beach was a simple short walk away and so quiet and private. We had the beach to ourselves many mornings. The whole cottage neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. We had a perfect vacation with two young children.

Charming indeed

June 25, 2012

We stayed for a week at the cottage and it was indeed very charming, nice and clean. We were a family of two adults and one baby. The main bedroom was nice and airy, we could hear the sounds of the sea at night. The other bedroom was quite smaller but since our baby slept in her portable crib, we cannot rate the two trundle beds. It's ideal for a family of two adults and one or two children, but anymore would be somewhat cramped in our opinion. The kitchen was nice and furnished, even though it would have been nice to have some basic food items to cook with (oil, sugar, pepper, aluminum paper for the bbq). The only thing we'd have to say would be that the vacuum cleaner and mop that were available to clean before leaving were quite old and worn down. It was hard to do a thorough clean with such poor tools, but nevertheless, all in all a wonderful experience! The beach is nice and really close, and very quiet (not hoards of people on it), the neighborhood is friendly and Camp ellis is just a short stroll away with other amenities a very short drive away. Nancy the renter is very friendly also and kept in close contact to make sure we were ok. We would definitely rent it again :)

Owner's reply:

Oh .. I will definitely be replacing the vacuum and the mop! I love guests who want to leave my cottage clean and am happy to help out by buying the proper equipment!

beautiful beach

July 12, 2010

the cottage was cute and clean however although it said 2 twin/single beds the second bed was under the first and the room being so small the only way to get out of the first bed was to step on the person in the second bed! Not cool! We did have a good week though but would not rent it again only because of the bed situation, everything else was wonderful!
