Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in San Francisco, California
April 20, 2015
My sister & I stayed here for 8 nights. It was ideally situated for all the places we wanted to visit & within walking distance of most. We felt very safe in this area too. Nathalie was most welcoming & informative & everything we needed was in the apartment which was clean & homely. The only criticism was that the sofa bed is ready for replacement - my sister drew the short straw here - I had the bed which was very comfortable! I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone wishing to stay in San Francisco!!

Delightful San Francisco accommodation!

This apartment is up the hill from Washington Square Park, right on Union. The Muni lines are literally a block away. If you get a transit pass you can go all over the city and end up back close to home. The apartment retains the cute San Francisco features (bay windows, the parrots, beautiful views of the city and sunsets) but the owners have remodeled the kitchen and bathroom, so you get the best of the best. Keep in mind it is a little small, but four adults fit well. Caffe Trieste, down the block, is a great way to start your day. There are several pizza places on the way to the apartment so if you need to stop and refuel before going up the hill, you will have no problem finding a place. We spent too much money at Cornology, but savored every bite. We enjoyed our vacation in the City and would recommend this apartment with no reservations. Nathalie the landlord was very friendly and helpful. This is a great way to experience San Francisco.
great location.and space for family of 4

Gorgeous Apartment in Beautiful Neighbourhood
January 30, 2014
If you are looking for a comfortable apartment in one of the best neighbourhoods, you can't go wrong. This Victorian Style apartment in Genoa place is in a perfect location and is well appointed to enjoy your stay in gorgeous San Fransisco. We loved the full kitchen as we could dine in and have a lazy evening or eat out at the many close by restaurants and cafes. It was an easy walk to the piers and supermarkets or if we were feeling lazy the bus was just down the street. There is so much to do and Telegraph hill is a great place to base yourself for fun. We loved our stay in San Fran and the outdoors lifestyle of the city. We enjoyed biking the bridge to Sausalito; taking the ferry to Alcatraz; walking the hills around the city and walking down the Filbert street steps near the apartment; playing and hiking through Golden gate park; investigating Chinatown; visiting the piers; and we didn't even visit the many indoor attractions that the city has to offer. Our family of four were very comfortable in this compact but centrally located apartment and it was a pleasant alternative to a hotel stay. Thanks Nathalie for the wonderful stay.

Outstanding apartment in heart of North Beach!

Where to start?? Dealings with owner - easy, friendly, accommodating and straightforward. Opportunity to store luggage until late flight made our last day a worthwhile day in SF rather than 10 hours in the airport. Apartment location- on Telegraph Hill, deep in the heart of North Beach. For those who may struggle with the hill (Union or Kearny), the solution is there in the form of the Muni #39 bus, which stops right outside the door. Best part of all is the feeling that you're a local, chatting to residents as you pick up some groceries, soaking up the most amazing vibes in North Beach. Few local gems for us - North Beach Pizza might be a guide book highlight, but the pizzas really are good. While you wait on take-out, enjoy a drink in the open-fronted Savoy Tivoli next door. For one of the best burgers and the most amazing fries ever, nip a few doors down to Mo's Grill. So many great places on the doorstep - we didn't stay away from North Beach any later than 7pm!!! Apartment itself - immaculate, equipped with everything we needed, new appliances, plenty linen, comfortable beds, great views. We'll definitely contact this owner for our next trip to SF.

A great stay

We had a really good stay. Our host Nathalie was kind and accommodating. Recent renovations have modernized this cozy unit. This is particularly true of the kitchen and shower. The apartment could not be in a better location. A great base for exploring the city. Want a nice place to eat? Throw a stone and you will hit about a dozen. Want a great view? Two blocks up the hill and it's Coit Tower. Walk down the hill to Washington Square and catch a bus to go farther afield. (Getting a Muni pass for three days or a week is a great deal.)

We stayed for just three nights but wish we had planned more time. Great location and very nice flat with updated kitchen and bath. It was close to many restaurants and public transportation. Would definitely stay here again. Owner was very helpful with any question.

Could not believe how great it was!

Very nice clean & quiet apartment. Fantastic location for vacation. Owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with. We were able to walk to Chinatown, Embarcadero, Ghirardelli, etc. Bakery on the corner was great for breakfast and breads for lunch. We were able to use the garage for our car & bikes. Coit tower was just behind the building – great to go watch the sunset at night. Price was great – cheaper than hotel and much nicer having a kitchen to use with teenagers. Can’t wait to go back!
Very nice rental, uphill.

We shall recommend this rental, no doubt : we were 3 in the 2-bedrooms flat, warmly & nicely decorated, well-furnished, with comfortable beds and no noise in the neighborhood. Good facilities corresponding to the description, VERY lively neighborhood 3 blocks away, easy access to downtown and stupendous view from Coit Tower ! Delicious restaurants all around ( Italian or Chinese mainly ). The only regret was not to find an un-expensive local supermarket or shopping place...contrary to other parts in town. We also enjoyed the many vintage shops, especially the music store ! A short but good stay in overall.

Perfect 1 BR apt, excellent location
September 14, 2009
Everyone we told that we were staying in North Beach was jealous! This is the perfect location. We could walk to Fishermans Wharf, the Ferry Building (where several of our tours started), Chinatown and were right in the middle of "Little Italy". Great restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk including Sodinis, Melt, Cafe Divine, Sushi on North Beach, and EXCELLENT pizza literally 2 blocks away at North Beach Pizza. New granite counters in kitchen and bathroom, immaculate bathroom, whole apt looks newly renovated which I think it was in like 2007. Very safe neighborhood. Cute cats to watch out the window on the roof next door! Starbucks coffee and a coffee maker in the kitchen! Washer/Dryer (coin op) in the garage-we used this halfway thru our trip which worked out great. Hairdryer in bathroom-leave yours home! No A/C but doesn't need it, the bay breeze is fabulous as this apt is on the 2nd floor. Definately recommend this apt!
Overall, an easy and enjoyable rental experience

My husband, adult child, and I rented the one bedroom flat offered in this building by the same owner (the two bedroom was booked). While it was small, it worked out. The biggest issue was that the cleaning crew did not adequately clean the bedroom prior to our arrival. The owner, Nathalie, was super about it, though--she apologized sincerely and offered a resolution that was to our satisfaction. Plus, she was very easy to reach and the rental process was painless. The neighborhood is great. Coit Tower is one block away. Buses are three short blocks away. Great restaurants two blocks away. Stores 1.5 blocks away. BART is either a short bus ride or a nice walk away. We would stay there again and have recommended the flat to my brother and his wife who will be traveling to SF soon. (Tip: If you walk downtown, take Grant Avenue to avoid hills.)
