Barbados is truly magical place to visit, and as regular visitors we are well acquainted with the island’s many treasures, or so we thought. Lucy’s villa “Ocean View” in Lower Carlton is truly a treasure in every sense of the word. Located in secluded well-appointed gardens, one instantly feels relaxed in this spacious luxury villa.
There is nothing pretentious about Ocean View, and one instinctively knows that the villa also serves as a “home” when Lucy’s family and friends visit the island. The villa is fully equipped with all modern facilities which make the decision “for evening meals on the veranda?” or “eating-out?” that much more difficult. . The surround-sound music system contributes to the very relaxed holiday feel – whether listening to Beethoven or Rihanna’s music, watching the sun set across the ocean view, really was very magical and memorable.
The villa has four good sized bedrooms, all with on-suite or adjacent high quality bathroom facilities – towels and sheets are changed on a regular basis by the Housemaid who also cleans throughout the villa once a week; most importantly the maid is friendly, unobtrusive and very efficient.
The villa is well furnished and tastefully decorated – most interesting (apart from the lizards that scamper across the walls) are Lucy’s macro sea-life photographs, visit: Lucy Agace - Coast Caribbean Images For any avid scuba divers, remotely interested in sea-life photography, Lucy’s photographs are without doubt works of art.
The local tropical beach at Reed's Bay, literally 5 minutes’ walk away, is never crowded and one is rarely pestered by beach hawkers who can prove to be a problem on beaches closer to Bridgetown.
Added local bonuses included the fish market (the fishmonger will clean your chosen catch whilst you wait), Ramshackles (a typical Bajan restaurant) and Lone Star’s cote de cuisine restaurant, both with fantastic views directly out to sea.
