Reviews for this vacation home rental in Stockton Springs, Maine
Most peaceful vacation yet!
July 20, 2015
This was our 5th time vacationing in Maine and by far, the best. Waking up to the sound of Loons most mornings, and enjoying our meals out on the deck overlooking the bay is magical. This house gives you a taste of what it's like to live on the ocean. The house is clean, and centrally located to many favorite spots in the state. My family absolutely enjoyed every part of this vacation, and having a nice place to come "home" to every night made it that much better. Thank you very much for enhancing our vacation experience! Having kids books, games, and the dolphin tale movie was the icing on the cake. Thanks again!

This was a great house. It was very clean and well appointed with matching dinnerware, towels, linens, etc. Beautiful view of the bay/mouth of the Penobscot River from the deck with comfortable patio furniture. Already thinking of booking for next year.

We loved our stay. The house was well equipped. It was clean, the linens fresh, it has a wonderful deck and beautiful sunrises. We kayaked a number of times and found out, the first time we went out, that you MUST go near high tides , other wise you could get stuck in the mud when you return! We left toward the end of high tide and returned 2 hours later. Not good,.... we could not walk in that mud; fell down (a few times) got covered with mud; lost our footwear, (found it) laughed a lot, and finally made it back to the house in one piece. Thank goodness there is an outside faucet and a washing machine!!! It was a great vacation.

Close to everything

What a great place , close to all the sights and small towns that make this area of the world special. Our kids loved clam digging at the end of the garden and everything you needed was there. We'd come again. Thanks

Pleasant and relaxing

Hi, Lisa We were very pleased with our stay at your house. Most important to us, was the cleanliness and safety( smoke alarms and secure locks). The view was beautiful, and the privacy was just what we were looking for! Getting to stores and eateries was convenient, and also allowed for pleasant rides along the way!! All and all, it was a pleasant and restful week, and we are looking forward to next year. Great Summer Rental

This is a great rental. My Parents and I stayed here and were completely pleased. It is a home rather than a cottage with all the necessary appointments. The location is great: quiet yet accessible to nearby attractions.

Seven Months of Serenity
March 5, 2014
I moved to Maine from New Jersey and rented this house from September, 2013 - March, 2014 while I looked for a home to buy. It's a shame this house is not for sale. It is located on a peninsula jutting out into Penobscot Bay. Needless to say the view is beautiful. Actually, it changes everyday, so I never got tired of seeing it. The house is a mid-century home built by the owner's father. The attention to detail is amazing, with wonderful woodwork with period details. The rooms are large and bright with views of the bay at the back of the house. You can sit on the deck, in the warm weather, and just relax while staring at the water. In fact, you can sit in the living room, kitchen, and a bedroom and still see the bay. The property is large and there's plenty of room for kids to play. The neighborhood is very quiet, and everyone who passes by says "hello". There's a seafood store just five minutes from the house, which I visited very often, where you can get lobster, clams, mussels, crabmeat, haddock, etc. Belfast is a lovely town just 20 minutes away. In the other direction is Bangor. Less than an hour from Stockton Springs is Acadia National Park, my favorite place in Maine. In the winter, the driveway gets plowed, so there's only a bit of blown snow that needs to be shoveled. The house has a garage, a washer and dryer, all must haves, for me, at least. I have bought a house 11 miles from here, but will always remember the winter I spent here. I certainly took enough pictures and will have them enlarged and framed so I can enjoy looking at them for years to come.

View was fantastic, location was ideal and handy to many nearby scenic sites. I enjoyed a short trip to Fort Knox and the new Bucksport bridge. The upper view was breathtaking! Sitting on the deck was heaven! Ocean out the back door;sure made it hard to leave. The house was great and provisions made it very comfortable. I'd definitely go back. Thanks Mike and Lisa!
