Bedrooms are clean, comfortable and uncluttered with ensuite bathrooms in two of four bedrooms.
The queen master bedroom features a large private bath and jacuzzi tub. Sliding doors off the master bedroom take you to a deck that crosses the back of the house. The view from the bedroom and master bath is beautiful. A full bedroom also has sliding doors that open onto the rear deck. The full bedroom shares a full bath with the third bedroom that has a king bed. The fourth bedroom has a queen bed with private bath. There is a queen sofa sleeper and 1/2 bath downstairs.
Looking for the perfect place to bring together family and friends to make memories to last a lifetime? Need a get away from the routine stress and aggravation of life? Visit Hideaway and adjust your outlook on life!
Hideaway is large enough to everyone to go their own way and have individual time with their spouse or children, yet it's cozy enough for everyone to enjoy each other. The back of the house is fabulous ! You have rocking chairs on the 2nd level deck. On the first floor deck, you have a picnic table on one end and table with chairs and 'super comfy' sliders on the other.
Roll out the gas grill and make every meal a picnic !
Located on the natural and less commercialized end of Tybee, you will find not only beaches bordered by sand dunes, sea oats and forests but panoramic views of the shipping channel, ocean and tidal creeks which host sail boats, wind surfers, kayaks and beach combers.
Plan a day of biking about the island or just cat napping on the beach with a good book as the surf laps at your toes.
You have a private walk from the home to a small deck almost to the beach. From there a stone path will take your feet to the sand.
At the end of your day at the beach enjoy a warm and private outdoor shower. You have a private dressing area and it's just fun to bathe outdoors...privately! It's also great for washing the sand from your children's feet and bathing suits.
If you're fortunate enough to be staying during a full moon, it's breathtaking watching the moon as it rises above Ft. Pulaski, just a little west of our home.
Just in case you ask yourself what the last photo that looks like a hot air balloon sitting in the water is (cause I didn't know either) that's a shrimp boat with a night cover. Dave Fletcher is a wonderful photographer who was kind to enough to share some photos he took on the north beach. You don't see sights like these from the south beach ! All of the sunrise and sunset photos are shared, courtesy of Dave.
Please take the time to take in the beauty of the location of Hideaway !

Relax on the Beach
March 12, 2015
Our family rented this home in early March 2015 and had a WONDERFUL TIME! We found the location far enough from Savannah & South Tybee to be quiet & relaxing but close enough to easily access the excitement of those locations. The owner/renters provided great recommendations for adventures out and about. The access to the beach was perfect and enjoyed by all. My husband had to work while we were on holiday and when there was a glitch in the internet service, the owner/renter reacted swiftly and got him back on line with minimal hassle. Despite the daily fog and chilly temps, (our daughter-in-law compared it to Lake Superior in July) we found a slice of heaven in this house during our weeklong vacation.

Just what we needed
November 4, 2014
Last year my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and the one thing that she wanted to do was to go to the beach. Unfortunately, her health declined to fast and we did not get the change to take her. But this year we decided to go and we took her memory with us. Oh My God this house was perfect for us. Only five of us made the trip, it was awesome. We had so much space and since all of the bedrooms were on the same floor, we felt like we were having a slumber party. Imagine that, adults having a slumber party. We enjoyed our time at the Hideaway and did not want to leave. The house is well maintained and had all of the essentials that we needed for our girls retreat. We sat at the breakfast table each morning and stared at one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. We rode around in the area and looked at other houses, but I must say, we made the PERFECT choice. The deck off of the bedrooms allowed us to easily see a gorgeous sunset. The weather was not nice to us, but we had the perfect home, so it did not matter. Thank you for allowing us to fulfill a wish. We are planning our next trip. But will make sure we come in the spring.
Thank you Olivia !
I am so happy you enjoyed your 'girls retreat'. Hideaway really is a perfect home for gatherings such as you described. I appreciate you commenting on the views from the rear decks. Upstairs or downstairs, it doesn't matter. The sunsets are breathtaking and if you're lucky enough to be there during a generous moon, that too is quite a site.
You ladies treated Hideaway like home and I thank you for that. We can always tell when our guests love where they are.
The perfect hideaway.
We had a wonderful time at Hideaway on the Beach! The house was beautiful, clean and came with everything you could possibly think of. Toiletries, spices, welcome basket, etc. The location was perfect for us. We loved being on the other end of the island away from everything. It made for a perfect evening sitting on the porches. We enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood. One evening I sat on the front porch at about 12:30 am and could not believe how quite it was. Perfect! My husband loved the outdoor shower and the jacuzzi tub was just what I needed after a 13 hr drive! The residents were friendly as were the cleaning people. Debra and Susan are wonderful people to deal with and handled all of my questions with grace! We can't wait to come back.

Hideaway on the Beach is a lovely home. My husband and our adult children stayed here for the first time June of 2013. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return this year. It really is in the perfect location. If you want big crowds, lots of noise and big waves, then go to the other side of the island. The waters here stay calm. We spent most of our time on the beach. My son brought two kayaks which provided some very memorable moments. We would paddle out when we saw dolphins and it was great fun being out there with them swimming all around us! We only saw manatees on two occasions. Last year we saw them almost daily. My husband was out on the beach very early every morning to fish. He loved it. He caught quite a number of fish and various other sea creatures as well! We enjoyed the new grill. As for restaurants, we can recommend the Crab Shack, Sting Ray's, MacElwee's, and Huck-A-Poo's (especially their pizza). A trip to Savannah is certainly a must. Such a lovely city!
Only used the jetted tub once. We prefer showers and used the outdoor shower which was "different" but fun! This home has plenty of towels. The beds are comfortable except for the lower bunk bed in the "kids" room. The mattress really does need to be replaced. The intercom radio is a nice feature and we used it every day.
The home owners are very nice. Debra was always quick to answer my emails. Prior to our trip, she mailed us a ton of brochures and information about Tybee and the Savannah area. It really was very useful.
