Terrible! Left Early!
April 8, 2014
This is house is the furthest thing from 'luxury.' As a traveller that regularly stays at places that offer luxury accommodation, I was alarmed to find a house that was tired, dirty and unpleasant for my family. Not only was the house falling apart and looked like an early 1980s decorator threw up all over, including the style of the furniture, window treatments, and household appliances. And, while we could accept horrendous decorations, it was the dirt and the bugs that really angered us. The curtains and rugs look like they haven't been cleaned in 20 years. We found roaches in the kitchen and in the bedroom. I have two young children and refused to let them on the floor. The pots, pans and dishes were filthy and the kitchen table is a fold out table with a $5 plastic floral tablecloth (looks like it was purchased at the dollar store). While the owner claims to have updated the kitchen with all new appliances, I believe that he confused renovating with randomly installing a no name stove and fridge that are stainless steal. I wouldn't call this a newly renovated kitchen. The floor has dirty tiles that are falling apart and the counters and cabinets are as old as the house. In terms of bedrooms, not all of them are usable. The guest room off the kitchen, which has its own set of un-tiled dirty stairs, is scary at best. Aside from having only room for a small twin bed that was apparently ready for someone to sleep (the sheets were dirty, one pillow and there were no blankets – it was honestly gross), it was unbearably warm. Other things to note: we were told by the owner NOT to open the doors and windows. He said we should keep the air conditioning on (but insisted that it stay at a temperature that was way to warm). Not only did we rent because the breeze from the water, we also noticed a musty smell in the house and craved fresh air. Oh, and before I forget, the pool took almost four days for the heater to start working so it reached a point were it wasn’t freezing to dip our toes in the water. The owner claimed it was better to turn it off at night, yet said it took days to heat. This did not make sense to us! While the owners seem to be very pleasant people, they are seriously confused about the standards required for luxury! This was the worst rental experience. Please beware! It was so bad that we left early.

Great spot for a family vacation!

We spent 4 days at this beautiful location. We had 6 adults ands 3 kids under the age of 10 and it worked perfectly. There was plenty of sleeping space and everyone had their own bathroom. We cooked all of our meals at the house and loved eating on the patio to enjoy the spectacular view. The kids loved exploring the yard as much as the playing in the pool. The house is older, but was very comfortable and had everything we needed and more.
