No, it’s not Orlando, but the exterior of these Galveston vacation rentals do look very similar to those resort-style condominiums in the Sunshine State.
If you prefer to be close to the beach, however, these have an edge: They’re right on the seawall along the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico.
“It was nice waking up in the morning and walking to the patio and seeing the ocean,” writes former renter Bradley Smith of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Sparkling waters aren’t the only draw. Notes Judy Minter of Kingston, Minn., dogs, albeit little ones, will enjoy the space, too, which is surprising considering that condos don’t scream canine-friendly. She brought her two pooches to the property, where they were able to roam freely in the fenced-in yard.
The one-bedroom condo boasts just enough room for a couple or family of four, and comes with the comforts of private homes, including a full-size washer and dryer (handy for those who prefer to pack light), stainless steel kitchen and balcony.
And if you’ve ever been criticized for your spontaneity and spending, this Texas vacation rental rewards both qualities. For the month of May–save for Memorial Day weekend–the property can be snapped up for $650 a week.
Take that, naysayers.
