Dear January,
You’re a month of extremes.
On the one hand, you fill us with hopes and dreams for another year. On the other, your days drag on, are blanketed by snow and missing the one ingredient we so love about the holidays: family time.
Next year, though, we’re going to ride on the optimism. We’re going to do something beneficial with that lone long weekend (MLK) and take a trip to Tennessee vacation rentals.
There, in a rustic cabin overlooking the Monteagle and Sewanee Mountains, we’ll make hot chocolate, snuggle by the fireplace and take in views of the bluff. We’ll admire the workmanship that went into the space, from the soaring windows to the sturdy log-by-log construction.
We’ll cook big breakfasts and hearty dinners in that intimate kitchen.
And we won’t get mad at ourselves if we gain a few pounds.
January, you aren’t so cold after all.
Love,
Holly Days
