Your wife loves the buzz of the city, the clicking of stilettos on pavement, the suits marching with briefcases down to Wall Street, the honking of cabs and the gallery-like designer boutiques. If she had her way, she would recreate her own “Sex and the City” episode and take her martini-sipping friends along with her.
For summer vacation, though, is Manhattan an appropriate spot for relaxing? Sure, you could easily score a New York City vacation rental when all the city folks head to their Hamptons vacation homes, but will you regret not being able to go winery hopping or yacht watching? And then there’s the value of just sitting still and relishing wide open spaces. In the Hamptons, you’ll get to ride your bike to the beach or laze around on your wraparound porch while the sun sets.
Maybe the solution here is a weekend getaway to NYC and an extended trip to the country.
