If you’re bent on finding gold this fall, then naturally, you head to Cairo.

Behold Exhibit A above. That’s the view from the porch of one of the New York vacation rentals on our site. The chalet on the hill just goes to show how the right seasonal photos can really sell a listing and pump up folks for fall.

With the palette of mustards, ambers and coppers infused in nature, it’s plain to see what inspired the Hudson River School to paint these local landscapes.

The featured four-bedroom house set on 15 acres is also a love letter to its surroundings, bringing the outside in with a stone surround fireplace and wraparound deck with swing chair and lounge chairs. There’s a pond out front, because what better way to spend than season than by reeling in a fresh catch?

Manhattanites, the property is only a two and a quarter-hour drive from the city, should your urban noses need some crisp autumn air up in the Catskills. Another plus: It’s a 10-minute drive to the slopes of Windham Mountain.

Alas, though, it is much too early to talk about snow. One season at a time …
