Resolution No. 5: Be More Generous

More specifically, give something away for free.

Yes, we’re talking to you vacation home owners. One night won’t hurt your bottom line that much, and in fact, may urge renters to book longer stays.

Take this Pacific Beach vacation rental, which is teasing us with two nights and a third free. The beauty, billed as a winter escape, sleeps nine guests for only $99 a night. Not even kidding. That’s a whole four-bedroom house–outdoor fire pit, gourmet kitchen, King Sleep Number Bed and all–for $22 a head (at full capacity assuming nine adults for two nights).

For bargain hunters, the package can’t be beat. You probably spent more on your last trip to the grocery store.

Better pounce on this deal before it expires on March 5 and don’t forget to mention that you found it on Check-In, Check-Out!

Valerie Moloney is your resident blogger and the Expansion Markets Editor for Citysearch.com, who oddly enough, feels panicked when asked, "What's the best place to eat in Chicago?" or her favorite, "It's my birthday. Where should we go with a party of six?" No stranger to travel--and traveling with kids--she is a young mom who ODs on the Internet when it comes to planning family trips or buying clothes. Here's hoping she finds you the vacation you deserve.

Instead of giving away free nights why not try giving other stuff away for free. If there is a nearby attraction to your Rental Property try giving away free tickets to that attraction. Golf Passes, Ski Lift Tickets, Disney World Passports.
