Star Gazing in California Vacation Homes

A duo of starlets remind us of how tough being an A-lister is.

First, there’s Scarlett Johansson, who just listed her four-bedroom Hollywood Hills home for $4.9 million, which would be a loss since she paid $7 million for it in 2007. Next, there’s Jennifer Aniston, who had a the his portion of a his-and-her-bath converted to a soaking tub, as shown in  the latest issue of Architectural Digest. Poor pussycats. Don’t you just feel sorry for them? So rich and beautiful and talented.

Not.

The rest of us would love one night in their Loubitins. Heck, we’d even settle for a week-long getaway in a California vacation rental.

As a matter of fact, I think I’ve found the perfect one.

The Hollywood Hills vacation rental pictured took top honors last year as a Los Angeles Times’ Home of the Week. Nestled in The Oaks of Los Feliz, it’s a siren that doesn’t have to try very hard to sell us on her city views, motor court for eight cars and infinity pool positioned to bask in the panoramic twilight of Hollywood. She even has a name: La Serena.

La Serena–a moniker you won’t forget when you’re testing out the three remote-controlled fireplaces or soaking in that old-fashioned tub in your octoganal master bathroom. Her period touches are like vintage baubles, from the low-slung tile roofs to the Spanish villa-like tiles in the entryway.

She’s a star. You better swoop in now before another renter comes calling.

Where should we go with a party of six?" No stranger to travel--and traveling with kids--she is a young mom who ODs on the Internet when it comes to planning family trips or buying clothes. Here's hoping she finds you the vacation you deserve.
