Where can you see the largest collection of Art Deco architecture, drive your car on the beach, and visit the happiest place on earth?
If you guessed Florida, you're right! Known for its "migratory population," sunny Florida is host to miles upon miles of coastline in a tropical climate. No wonder so many people travel south to Florida every year!
The world's largest collection of Art Deco architecture is located in the historic district of Miami Beach. While you're there, you can sunbathe on South Beach, made popular by the television show Miami Vice. Afterward, take a stroll down pedestrian-only Lincoln Road and enjoy outdoor dining, shopping, biking, and rollerblading. You'll have plenty of time to explore and relax if you rent an apartment in the Miami area... and if you've maxed out on sunbathing, I recommend taking in a performance at the New World Symphony Orchestra (season is Oct-May) or making your way along the string of Venetian Islands.
Where can you drive on the beach? Hint: It's also known as NASCAR headquarters. Daytona Beach! This is grand central station for anything on wheels, whether it's automobiles or bicycles. Even if you're not here to watch a race, definitely visit the "Daytona 500 Experience," an interactive museum where you can experience the thrill of driving a racecar via motion simulator, try being part of a pit crew, or just sit back and enjoy the ride in the IMAX theatre. Bikers will want to hit Daytona during Bike Week (March) or Biketoberfest (Oct). For an even bigger speed-boost, an hours' drive south brings you to Cape Canaveral! Check out Daytona rentals here.
And what would a trip to Florida be without a visit to the happiest place on earth? I'm sure I don't have to tell you I'm talking about Disney World, located in Orlando. With six major parks and a host of other attractions, this is the place where kids' fantasies come to life — and where adults turn into kids! Want to save money and have a comfortable place for your family to relax at the end of the day? Rent a house or apartment in the Disney World area: Kissimmee is closest, but Orlando, Davenport, and Clermont are all within a half hour's drive.
