Spectacular is the only way to describe Hanalei. We are SOOO happy we chose to stay here! There is so much I want to say about our trip to paradise. First, we loved the house and its ideal location!!! Never having to drive to the beach or town was fabulous. Both are just a short five minute walk. We appreciated that the house is set back away from the road. No traffic noise or voices of people walking by. Also appreciated being one level up. That gave us wonderful views of the lush tropical foliage, mountains & waterfalls... plus privacy. We could leave our windows open & shades up and we never felt exposed. The open floor plan gave the house a spacious & light & airy feeling. And I really enjoyed preparing meals the large kitchen but Tom preferred the BBQ. The gas grill worked great! It was convenient & easy to use & did an excellent job. The king size bed was comfy & I particularly liked the smooth soft sheets! Thank you for providing beach towels and a beach umbrella. We arrived fairly pale and needed a little shade for the first few days. Overall I give the house 5 stars. It met our every expectation. Now I must rave about the beach on Hanalei Bay. We were thrilled with the soft fine sand. No rocks or seaweed or trash. Loved the bay because it provided protection from rough water & waves. A safe place to swim even for those not comfortable in the ocean. And having a lifeguard on duty offered an extra level of protection. Also loved that it never felt crowded. There's plenty of room for everyone and we were never subjected to listening to other peoples conversations. And it's a nice long beach. Great place to walk or jog and watch the sunset. We also LOVE the little village of Hanalei. It's a perfect size. Just a few restaurants, shops & grocery store. Fun to walk into town to hang out or enjoy shaved ice. And the Kauai Nut Roasters are AWESOME. You've gotta try the Pineapple Li Hing Almonds. They are amazing! Next year we will be back... only this time it will be for two weeks in paradise. We want more of that Aloha spirit!
