I'll begin by saying the condos are a mere 196 feet from the beach. Simply cross the road and you're there! Our stay was during the off-season, so the rates couldn't be beat, town was rather quiet, and the beach was practically empty. That said, there were still plenty of things going on--it was just more peaceful than it would be during season. Tom greeted us as soon as we pulled up and was extremely helpful and hospitable during our stay. There were bicycles on-site free to use and kayaks for $25 per day--I would really recommend taking advantage of these. The location of the condos was perfect. It was a bit farther down the island than the larger resorts, which we really liked as it meant the beach was much more quiet. Even being a bit further away, we were still a short walk from Times Square and all the wonderful eateries in town (Nervous Nellie's is a MUST! They have a huuuuge menu, really good prices, and very generous portions.) The condo itself was quaint and homey, and the kitchen had every appliance and utensil we could have needed. The balcony offered the perfect spot to watch the sun rise or set. Needless to say, we were extremely impressed by Tom's hospitality as well as the great quality and location of the condo itself, as well as the Fort Myers Beach area, in general. It will likely be a year, but we will most definitely be returning as soon as we have another opportunity. If you're looking for a place to stay in the area, steer clear of high-rise resorts and your typical hotels and choose a unit in Riptide Condos. You won't regret it!
