great lake house!!

“ Excellent ”
August 13, 2015
we rented this lovely home the last week of july 2015. we are 2 families with 4 adult and 3 kids and there was more than enough room for all of us. the house was fully equipped with everything we needed. we set up the badminton net the 2nd day and played several times every day. there were plenty of sand toys for the little ones and the beach was great. the house has a comfortable leather sectional that is not pictured in the description, lots of room for all 7 of us to sit on a rainy evening and play charades. there were lots of animal sightings, with a resident eagle and many loons and a pretty big water snake included! the loons call is so beautiful and haunting, i think we heard them every day! the kitchen is decently sized, the only problem we found was the fridge, which was older, had to be closed properly every single time or it stayed ajar, leaving the stuff inside very warm. hopefully the owners will update that one little glitch soon, if not, now we know and can learn to live with it next time we come. the kayaks and canoe were great to explore the HUUUGE lake! we thought about bringing our own kayaks since we had never used the *sit-on-top* style, but we didn't and we were glad we didn't bother, the ones they provide are really fun to use and not at all hard to use. overall, we had a blast, the kids loved pingpong and the water and the house was very beautifully landscaped, we would recommend this home to anyone. the area is very central and there is a grocery store nearby as well as places to pick up a pizza or chinese food. it's a great, easy rental for families with kids or even older folks who like to enjoy the quiet but still have access to civilization. one thing i should note, we were there for a week and there were barely any motor boats at all on the lake! that is a pet peeve of ours, we like to be on the water and have it be peaceful and feel like we are on our own out there and it really did feel that way! this is a big lake but it does not feel like many "big" lakes feel. it is not overbuilt, or overpopulated, it's quiet and lovely and you will be glad to be there!
