Hi, I'm Anna!

I was born in Poland but lived in England, Libya, Canada and the Eastern USA before discovering Hawaii. Among the Hawaiian islands, all blessed with beautiful beaches, incredible mountains and wonderful hospitable people, I chose Oahu for its rich cultural life, unique historical places and the excellent central location for travel. I live here since the year 2000, still discovering another exciting place almost every week. The Aloha people ( you will also find the difference), the warm ocean offering all kinds of water recreation and the perfect weather make Hawaii a place as close to paradise as it is possible, this side of the world of living. Why wait?

Basic beach vacation room, excellent location

“ Excellent ”
September 18, 2014
We stayed 5 nights in only 1 room of the house -- Jungle Room. There were other guests in the other rooms during our stay. The room itself and the grounds had all the basics needed for a beach stay. Full bath, comfortable bed, small fridge, 2-burner hot plate, toaster/convection oven, sink, a few cabinets, plates, utensils, pots & pans, cutlery, widescreen TV (which we rarely turned on). We had breakfast in the room and made sandwiches for lunch at the beach. There was a small a/c in the room we ran at night that cooled adaquately, but had the windows open and the fan going during the day. There were chairs and boogie boards to take down to the beach and an outdoor shower and hoses for washing off sand before entering the home. We received our own remote control to use for the driveway gate and codes for pedestrian access. Excellent setup. The only points-off would be the fact that the blinds were filthy/dusty in an otherwise clean room. I would give the facilities 2 diamonds according to the AAA diamond ratings methodology for lodging. What raises my review to 4/5 stars is location, location, location. First the Coral House is just a short block to Kailua Beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to in the world. Warm water, not crowded, plenty of beach, especially when compared to Waikiki. Second the house is right across the street from Kalapawai Market which makes the best coffee I have ever had at a coffee shop, and I am a bit of a coffee snob. Third the town of Kailua is compact enough to allow a quick drive to go shopping, run to the grocery store or have dinner at any of the wonderful restaurants that are there. So I will give our overall experience in the Jungle Room at Coral House a 4/5. We would definitely return should we get back to Oahu.
