A Place in History
March 23, 2011
The house once housed the great scientists of England. It is a registered historic building. In spite of this, the furnishings inside are modern and comfortable. It is inside of a sub community called the Royal Arsenal. There is an immediate sense of belonging as soon as you arrive. It is a different experience compared to staying in central London. I've done both and quite liked this experience. I brought my teenage daughter and her best friend and they loved it. The transportation options for getting to the center of London are plentiful. We usually took the DLR from Woolwich Arsenal to the Bank station of the underground. We also used the british rail from Woolwich Arbenal to London Bridge station of the underground. Also there is a dock at Royal Arsenal that has boat service to several stops along the Thames including Westminster. I think this was a splendid place for a person familiar with London to find new experiences and yet convenient for someone visiting London for the first time to easily get to the sites like the Tower, Westminster, Parliament, Buckingham, etc.
