Wonderful pet-friendly beach retreat
June 1, 2015
We stayed in Brisas the week of 5/18-22/2015. The weather was great and we had a great time. The totally fenced back yard was perfect - you can take the pups back and forth from the beach as many times as they can handle, and then they can rest in the yard without having to climb the stairs multiple times. The way the house is situated, there is always some shade in the back yard. The deck area stays shaded morning through mid-afternoon, and then the shade moves into the yard area until evening. My dogs are older, so they could only manage one trip downstairs in the morning and then back up before bedtime. The walk to the beach is very short, about a block. The park authority keeps the neighborhood beach area pretty clean and there are no crowds to deal with. The ground floor deck is very nice with a hot tub, small charcoal grill and chairs. My only quibble with the ground floor deck is that a little table (to stage items during grilling) would be helpful. The upper deck has a very nice view of the beach/ocean and is great for eating out. The neighborhood does periodic mosquito spraying, so we saw very few of the bloodsuckers during our stay. The house is very nice and all the appliances work well. The bedrooms each have a TV, and the evenings are very quiet and restful. We were outside almost all day every day, so we didn't get to use the living room area much at all, but it also has a nice TV and furniture. When we first arrived, some of the exterior lights were burned out, but Marilyn was super responsive, and the very nice handyman had everything fixed up a couple of hours later. Folks with dogs may want to inquire when the lawn service is scheduled during the week so you can make sure the dogs are out of the way at that time. There is a little mom and pop grocery/deli less than a mile down the road, which was a good convenience. This is a great property and I hope we can return again.
