Incredible Find in the Village
December 7, 2014
Pros: Close to everything in west & east village; subway, bus, and taxis all abundant, restaurants and clubs to suit anyone's tastes and budget, near Hudson River jogging/walking paths and piers; Property JUST AS DESCRIBED, clean, bright, easy check-in at Revel rest. and everyone I dealt with was incredibly nice & helpful. Owner/mgr., Tom, was quick to get back with any questions had. Cons: Really only one, Wifi was non-existent in room. It worked if you sat on the stairs leading up to the top floor but not in the room. A pleasant man from the restaurant tried to see if he could do anything but he was stumped too. Not too big a problem as there were MANY coffee shops wih Wifi close by when I needed to get on line. One thing to note, if you are from a very rural area and not used to "city noise" you may need ear plugs to sleep. The street below is very busy with hipsters and club noise late at nite. This was not a problem for me but might be for someone not used to this. **Just FYI - This is a beautiful, old, building where the apartment is located and is a two-story walk-up, as such there is no elevator or doorman. If you require these things than maybe a posh hotel would be more to your liking. However, if you are planning on living like a true New Yorker for your stay then this is the perfect place. It has heart, soul, beautiful brick walls, ambiance, and is in one of the older areas of the village with a rich history. If this is what your looking for - then look no further. I'd also throw a shout out to Bubby's Rest. they have an amazing breakfast for a reasonable price and The Chocolate Bar for the best hot chocolate. Tom - Thank you for an amazing stay, I hope to be back again next fall/winter!
