Ala Moana Hotel Condo

“ Excellent ”
July 4, 2013
This condo at the Ala Moan Hotel was very centrally located, and close to many island activities. The hotel was easy to find, and easy to get in and out of. The parking lot was full on several evenings, but the parking attendants gave me a permit that would allow me to park at the metered parking stalls right outside the hotel. The lobby of this hotel is beautifully decorated with orchid plants & plenty of contemporary furniture to relax on. They even have a popular nightclub called "Rumours," on the first floor. There are several restaurants located in the hotel, and there are restaurants in the adjoining Ala Moana Shopping center. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. There are also some very nice gift shops in the hotel. One had nice souvenirs as well as a wide variety of food items. I enjoyed the Hawaiian music playing in the lobby as well as the free wifi. The condo is located on the 7th floor, a very short elevator ride. There are plenty of elevators, and I never had to wait for long. I was surprised to find that I had to restock the liquid soap dispenser, and that there were no Kleenex, or paper towels, and very little toilet paper. There is a 24-hour Wal-Mart and also a Sam's Club nearby, where I could pick up all the items I needed. I called the owners to let them know what I had found. Michael told me that there is a hidden drawer in the bathroom that I had missed, where more toilet paper, sunscreen, and a few other sundries were stored. He was surprised at the lack of supplies, and apologized for that. I must say that the owners always respond very quickly to any questions that I had, and were very kind. The room has a mountain view, which also includes views of some parking lots, clubs, and the nearby Neil Blaisdell Center, but I didn't mind that, as I enjoyed the mountain-view, the wonderful trade winds, and the beautiful architecture of the Blaisdell center. The room doesn't have a balcony, but I spent most of my time out enjoying the island, and didn't mind the absence of a balcony. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom for one person, though wash-cloths were a little short. The grout in the shower needed to be bleached, and the floor underneath the bath counter mopped more throughly, but all in all everything was very nice. The room tastefully decorated with a contemporary look and is the perfect size for 1-2 people.
